Just been watching Wenger being interviewed on ITV4 and I've got to say I was hugely impressed by what he said. He was talking about how he didn't need to spend money on big stars because he has faith in his youth system and what is the point of bothering with a youth setup if you're just going to buy people in ahead of them? He also said that football is first and foremost a sport and the business side is a byproduct of the success on the pitch.

He might be an arrogant cock at times (I'm pretty sure he had a cheeky dig at Spurs in there), but I would truly love to have a guy like that in charge at the Lane. The bloke really knows his football.

Arsenal's academy has spat out many young English talented players down the years who couldn't get a look in while he brought in French & African players.

He has spent millions on players and whilst unearthing some superstars there have been quite a few flops as well during his reign.

The Arsenal way of playing annoys me because he wants it turned into a non-contact sport when it suits him and his players, but down the years the red cards accumulated by his teams are a disgrace and the intermittent myopia he displays when it suits him really pisses me off. Like the other three-quarters of the Sky4 they always seem to get the bulk of the ref's decisions in their favour.

(In between though some good footie has been played I'm ashamed to admit)

And actually the local Arse fans round here (N.16) are not that happy.

Alot of them are starting to question Wenger's philosophy and tactics, especially in having Gallas as Club Captain.

Another trophyless season will not be received well at all.
