This season has been fucking shocking. I hope that 30 mil from the champions league keeps Levy warm tonight.

I want us to finish in 5th if we cannot achieve 4th
We worked hard to establish ourselves above Liverpool, we both have had Europe to contend with this year and it will be a real kick in the teeth if they overhaul us.
I do not however want the distraction of Europa league and rather us play the youngsters if we got there. So basically like a child I only want 5th so Liverpool dont get it rather than for the prize of Europa which we could do without

It's because apart from Fulham no one takes the Europa league seriously.
Us, Villa, Liverpool and City has all dicked around with fielding a weakened sides in the last three years to concentrate on the league.
Both are best league positions in the last 20 years have been when we have had no distractions.

I can't see us finishing fourth next season to be honest, so why not get into the Europa League and try and win a trophy.
If no-one takes it seriously it should be easier to win that than it would be to get into the top four - I'd rather win the Europa League and not finish fourth than win absolutely nothing and not finish fourth.

The only solus I can mustar from not qualifying for europa dogshit, is we will have even less of a need for so many players who shouldnt be on the payroll. Our squad is regarded as the best because of quantity of established household names rather than high quality of footballers.
I also beleive that it would provide us with the grit to get back the same way that Liverpool hase rediscovered theres. Its amazing what effects you're subconsious mind has on your body.
All that said I think that we have had a good season (despite the gloom mongers) and I still want to finish as high up as possible.
Just wish that it didnt feel like a punishment for missing top for having to play Europa league on Thursday nights. UEFA really have destroyed a fantastic competition

...bollocks, we're top of the fair play league. We're going to get europa whether we want it or not.

Yeah. I preferred the old system of European, UEFA and Cup Winners Cups but I guess there's not enough money in that for UEFA.
Whoever said on here the other day about if the winner of the Europa League got into the Champions League was spot on. It'd be a totally different competition then.
