I think Mourinho is at fault with his choice for CB. Dier/Toby was decent. How Rodon is not given game time is beyond me. You can't change your defence every single game. That's on Jose. I think the faster he leaves, the better it is for the team. I don't think many are rooting for him now. Of course who to replace him? Sacramento or Ledley or is there anyone who wants this job?
Because Rodon is shite to

I am furious at the result and our seeming lack of ability to defend straight forward attacking threat but I think that was the best we have played in a long while. I really do.
Does that mean we extend this torture in hope ? I don't know but I have to take things on face value. We dominated the game, showed for the ball and had plenty of chances. Put it this way - I thought we were far better today than Jose's first game when we won 3-2

It depends. If we believe a new manager could bring us into the top 6 or beyond, absolutely change now. Our team might have issues in defence, but the reality is a simple one, we are massively underperforming. Hitting top 6 and qualifying for Europa already makes a difference in terms of money to claw that 30m back, but getting rid in the summer will not change that, if the contract has no break clause, you lose that money regardless of what you do.
This is beginning to mirror the Ramos period. Over thinking it. When Harry came in the philosophy was "keep it simple and attractive".
Back then the same players got results for harry when they didn't for ramos.
I don't know TBH. I reckon Jose has a plan, but it's so complex that it's unexecutable at present.

Our second half performance gives me encouragement that we can get positive results going forward.

However we need to play our best available players or at least, the ones in good form.

For all of Tanguy’s quality he simply doesn’t have it in him to run a game in the way Yaya Toure did. When he gets involved he’s brilliant but he just doesn’t get involved enough.

Took Bale coming on and putting us on his shoulder second half. Showed his class today

Was thinking this. When GLC is back maybe he is better in the 2?

Best strike partnership in world football. Hojbjerg and Ndombele in midfield. Spain's left back. France captain in goal. Gareth Bale...

Worst we've been in two decades.

I think we need better players so that the manager can do his job properly, we are pretty low on confidence right now and are being let down by individuals, people wanted Jose to play on the front foot which we are now but surprised how bad our defence are which was always going to be exposed, I mean what exactly were you expecting? The Everton match was a massive clue.
Exactly. The same people moaning about the defending right now were probably the same ones moaning when Jose was playing defensively. I think it's blatantly obvious why we had been playing with the shackles on considering our defending in the last few. There is no solution with this current crop of players. Either we play eye gouging stuff and maybe be one or two points better off or continue to play as we are and hope to outscore our opponents.

Said it before but if Jose was managing the team when we were challenging Leicester or Chelsea then we'd have won one of them.

Didn’t he get sacked the year we were challenging Leicester?
Weird counter factual anyway. Mourinho’s got enough pedigree not to need this kind of false boosting.

I've seen enough to know this is our best team

Lloris
Aurier Toby Rodon Reguilon
Ndombele Hojberg
Bale GLC Son
Kane

As soon as we can get this team out we can progress

Mourinho will never play our best XI so give up hope before it kills you.

On the topic of best XI's though that absolutely is ours, I'd just argue we'd be much better balanced with a proper 4-3-3 rather than 4-2-3-1. Even the 4-2-3-1 is a huge improvement though. Lamela and Alli as options for RWF and ACM are really good options as well. Or Lamela RWF and Bale ACM.
