Well, lucky me is off to Thailand for the holidays, but, I can catch every Premier league match in Thailand, if you find the right bar, which I have.

I thought I would write my final notes of the year.
Signings:

The best signing we have made in many years... Harry Rednapp..... he is my kind of manager, no nonsense, got us right out of the crap, and knows a good player when he sees one.

Nico Krankjar... I feel we have perpetrated a crime against Portsmouth, 2,5 million !!! What a steal, what's he worth now? 4 times what we paid, minimum.

Level of our expectations.

In one year, we have gone from relegation favourites, to genuine top 4 contenders, our levels of expectation rises every week, specially after performances like Liverpool, Wigan, Aston Villa and Man City. Yes we lost a couple of stupid games, Stoke and Wolves, but we have sneaked points against B'ham, Sunderland and a couple of others, so I believe we sit in the right place in the table.

Improvement.

January will be a crucual transfer window.
In... centre half, central midfield and striker.... all must be mustard if we are to improve, a class footballing centre half (wooody and King might never play again), same for central midfield, and we desperately need an impact striker, big, fast and skillful, not sure who, but in the Anelka-Drogba-Torres mould... a striker who can make something out of nothing.

Out... IMO

Bentley, Pav, Keane, Hutton.... I know some like Keane, he led us to safety last season, but whatever he had, he's lost it, and would probably benefit from a move, the others are simply warming the bench every week. Should get around 30-40 mil for them (they cost 50), to fund the 3 players we need....

Anyway, we Spurs supporters will never agree on everything, but we all love our team, and we enter 2010 in much better shape than when we entered 2009. I wish everyone a Merry Xmas and Happy New Year... and dream of Champions League football.... let's see :)

How enjoyable is it being Spurs at the moment?

Last season I was living in a house with 4 friends and Spurs seemed to be on TV every week between the PL and Europe. I just remember dreading each game as we turned in shit after shit, game in, game out.

These days I can't wait for the next game, there is a real buzz about being a Spurs fan at the moment. We're still not strong enough mentally to make the top 4 imo, but as arry says, we will be up there battling to the end. I am just enjoying watching us play at the moment and that's what it's all about.

Dude, don't worry about finding the right bar - i wouldn't be surprised if the hotel telly had the games running too, that way you don't have to go out in the mad sweaty heat at 4am to see the kick off

It's true, it is nice being a Spurs fan right now - have a fun time dude

This just made me realise I'll be spending the whole of next season away from Spurs and having to watch games at silly hour.

This makes me sad. :-(

I sit next to two Spammers at work and what a difference 12 months make. This time last year I was being invited by them to Spurs' relegation party as they were crowing about how bad we were with our defeats at Newcastle and WBA over the Xmas break.

12 months later and they are very quiet.

Quiet satisfaction - just hope we stuff them on the 28th and then Jan 4th will be a great day to come into work.

What makes it worse for them is that their hero Redknapp has done this for us.

ha ha ha ha ha

Merry christmas m8, are you going to sample the ladyboys while yer there?

If you re-read his opening paragraph, I think you'll find...

Well, lucky me is off to Thailand for the holidays, but, I can catch every STD known to man in Thailand, if you find the right bar, which I have.

Rocky's right, by the way - your hotel will show it, as will just about every bar. ESPN/Star get about 7 live Premier League games each weekend, so you won't miss much.

This just made me realise I'll be spending the whole of next season away from Spurs and having to watch games at silly hour.

Where you going, Ken? If it's anywhere in this part of the world 10pm kick-offs aren't to be sniffed at. Although midweek games are nothing short of a ****, I grant you.

It's Oz that will be the fucker for watching games. I was in Brisbane for the famous FA Cup game against City when we were leading 3-0 at half time, when the game finished it was light outside and time for work!

Don't FOX show a lot of the EPL games down in Australia?

Yeah, but at shit times. Here is only just passable and even then I usually stay up until 3am to watch the late game on a Saturday. That would be 6am in Oz.

So, all-in-all, I'm not too unhappy that we've delayed our eventual settling in Melbourne, lovely city though it is.

Awww, so close.

Seriously, a weekend in KL is worth it - nightlife and pub scene is terrific now and I might even buy you a brew or two.

Melbourne for me is the best place I've ever been, awesome.

Watched Euro 2004 when we went out on penalties to Portugal in an 'English Pub' called the Charles Dickens I think. Pretty sure that one finished about 8am!

.

Malaysia is an option, since none of the trip is overly planned/set in stone. I'm just booking a flight to Oz and then just doing it unscripted. Who knows? maybe I will just fly to KL instead of HCM city and make my way up from there instead

My brother-in-law is a GP in Melbourne, God that city is amazing, what a beautiful place. Visited last year and saw the Melbourne F1 GP, was utterly brilliant. Enjoy when you get there - if you need a contact with a friendly member of the YidArmy let me know and I'll get you his contact details

I was there last year for a month and managed to watch every game bar one, if you ask you can often get one of the screens changed to a spurs match if not already on.

Its nuts really, continuous EPL footy, match after match. They love it.

Kendall doesn't like cricket. He doesn't understand it. How I would love to be out there to see us retain the Ashes, will have to settle for my dreams.

Kendall doesn't like cricket. He doesn't understand it. How I would love to be out there to see us retain the Ashes, will have to settle for my dreams.

He understands beer and 100,000 seater stadiums where 5,000 drunken English blokes sing songs about the sexuality of Australians though, surely? I would take great pleasure in sitting next to Ken and explaining to him the finer points of the great game for seven hours a day over five days. And I imagine he could think of fewer more pleasurable ways to spend his trip around the world, either.

Have you done Oz, at all? It always amazes me how watching cricket there is quite different to England. Mainly it's the huge stadia and outfield. Makes our boys look tiny. Even Harmison and Flintoff walked out less like 6-and-a-half foot tall sporting behemoths and more in the manner of errant eight year olds sent to the Headmaster's study for forgetting their PE kit. You can imagine how the likes of Chris Read, Ian Bell and Rob Key look. Quite an experience for the inexperienced and youthful. The MCG particularly is very punishing. I've lost count of the number of times I've seen touring batters drive or pull right out of the middle and then realise that, yes, they are going to have to run and will be lucky to get three. Fielding's just as painful with nowhere to hide.

Done the last three (and four of the last six) Boxing Day Tests. A nice tradition with the pater-in-law. Moreso for him when it's the Ashes, though.
