Antonio Conte has certainly made an impression on his Tottenham players in his first couple of weeks in the job.

So why did they ignore conte in the first half? This bit stood out for me: if we don't press high or don't press strongly enough, if we are not aggressive enough..I think it is about this
This has plagued us for years apart from the middle ones under Poch. These lads just need to be prepared to keep going to the limits of the sacrifice and then maybe, just maybe they'll win something. Conte on the sideline during that 2nd half was just incredible literally coaching player by player on how and where to press during the game! For example, you had Dele come on and there was just no intensity to his work but Conte wouldn't let him get away with it and kept driving him to do more, be more aggressive and quicker on the press. Same with Harry and Son. I think we have finally found our manager that can kick us on. Just hope the club backs him to the hilt to realise his vision. COYS!!!
I read something saying that Conte had admitted afterwards that he hadn't asked the team to go 'full 'throttle' right from the start and at HT he didn't need to shout and scream at anyone. Just talked them through calmly what was expected in the 2nd half and made a few adjustmentsSo why did they ignore conte in the first half?
Reading the riot act to the players at half time would have helped, but the more experienced players are going to get pretty pissed off with getting booed off the pitch and getting bollocked at h/t every week, when they probably feel that all that crazy pressing is for the youngsters.
Just look at how Hojbjerg reacted after he scored - he was not a happy bunny.
And hopefully Conte’s use of wing-backs will help. Moura tends to drive inside, occupying centre halves and full backs, this often leaves so much space out wide.Of all the players in our first team squad, Lucas seems to be one especially well suited to be improved by Conte, because he already has the fire and the sustained energy level that Conte demands. He mainly needs to have his sense of what is going on around him improved - his peripheral vision of the game - so he sees opportunities instead of running into traffic and losing the ball. Conte will give Lucas very specfic, directed positional and tactical instructions and then make him do it 150 times until he has it right.
Lucas needs to pay a bit less attention to his footwork and bit more attention to the space around him. I doubt this has escaped Conte.
The difference between frustrating Lucas in the first half yesterday and nearly-unplayable Lucas in the second half was down to judgment and vision, not technique and fitness.

Fuck me I hate football.london articles. Riddled with adds and banners. It's cancerous for smartphones
I re-watched the second half of the the Leeds game on Monday to see if the constant criticism of Moura was justified. He made four bad passes, but five passes that were not only spot on accurate, but also incisive and opened up Leeds in and around their penalty area. However with four of those passes other players failed to take advantage of them. I like Moura for his busting a gut and for the amount of times he breaks up opposition play. It's the reason why I don't get the constant Moura criticisms. Yes he can be a bit frustrating with his end product but one thing is that the man always busts a gut, never hides and keeps offering himself as an out ball even under extreme pressure which is more than can be said for most of our squad. For that he will always have my full respect.
