What does David Pleat do at Spurs?

David PleatMeister is Chief MerryMaker of THFC.

His most recent escapade was filmed live on SpursTV reading the squad sheets for the Euros...amazingly, he couldn't even pronounce the names from the England team-sheet. STV staff played a little joke on him. They covered over the England on the sheet and he had to guess which country it represented - he opted for Guatemala City.

When we capture enemy players and put them to the torture, the favoured method is to lock them in a tiny cell with 24 hour lighting and force them to listen to never ending re-runs of DavidPleatMeister radio match commentaries. But just to show that we are a compassionate bunch, we release any who hit a buzzer if he says "Jermaine Defoe - a player I brought to Tottingham" within the first five minutes of kick orf. If it is not even a Spurs game, we award them a special prize of a Spurs 5 Goons 1 DVD.

It seems like he's part of our scout team again, looking for youth at british clubs.
People make him out to be a bit of a joke, but he do know his stuff.
Wouldn't want him in a major role, but happy to have him scouting for us.

He does know his stuff...but, come on, be honest, he is a prize pratt.

He was top of my list to replace Harry
It would be quicker to say what he doesn't do at Spurs than what he does do.
His chalk-boards for the Guardian are quite baffling
but nobody likes to admit they don't have a clue how they work.

Oh sorry I had the list upside down.

Seems to know his stuff and all about players and tactics, he even seems to know where players were born and where they grew up, which is bizarre sometimes because he reminds me of the Rain Man sometimes. Maybe he has a bit of that in him

Scouting ability ?

More worried about the prospect of going back to the Director of Football structure and Tim Sherwood having more influence .

I have heard about this so called ability but two of his players were the strikers Steven Ferguson and Dave McEwen, i saw McEwen vs Southampton in 2001 i think, he was atrocious - the worst i have ever seen. Ally Dia bad

He must have got this reputation somehow, do you know of any successes he has been responsible for discovering?

According to him, he bought half of the earths population through Spurs youth or at least 'had a look' .

He is an epic penis, but to be honest, I miss him on the Telebox, these co-commentary blokes these days are just fucking annoying, I would literally twat Andy Townsend on sight just on instinct, like a reflex I detest him that much. At least Pleat was funny, how great would Czech Republic v Greece been with MC Fuckshisname on the Mic? Come on, it was a recipe for comedy gold!

Teaches player pronunciation.

And impresses potential investors by bouncing household objects on his springy ram-like fro...

He tried his best. For better or worse.

What is the point of this thread?

He did pretty well as coach for us both times, but not for 'that business' who knows? Also deployed Ledley in the DM role during his caretaker stint, worked really well. People do tend to remember him for the one thing though, it's either being a perv or not being able to articulate his own name properly.
