Anyone know why Defoe suddenly wants to cancel his "dream come true" and his 90 000-a-week-contract and return to the PL?

Nelson has a barny with a board member or something and quit/got sacked. Defoe now wants out.

More or less it I think.

He won't be coming back here, so can we not start with that please.

Reality seems to have set in early on about what a weak league it is, don't think it was all to do with Nelsen's sacking. He's been coming back over here quite a bit, tell-tale signs that someone isn't settling in a new environment.

Defoe should grow up if that's what it is. I thought of that possibility and now that I think of it, it probably is, as the two stories broke on what, within a day of each other? Seems too much of a coincidence not to be linked. Anyway, grow the fu*k up Defoe if that's what it is. At least give the new man a chance, that is if they've already appointed someone.

He probably went to one of the mayor's parties and realised he couldn't hack it over there!!!

Am I the only one who wants defoe to come back to us?

Judging from the above comments, it does seem so, which I find really perplexing. Hes not a bad player at all and can still contribute the goals. Im sure Poch would know how to make use of him.

Give the little man a bit of respect, please. 5th highest ever scorer for Spurs and 2nd in most appearance in the premier league. Come on.

With all due respect to Defoe I really, really can't see it working.

Yup, scored plenty for us, spurs through and through, the past, yada yada, the past.

Sorry mate, I like the lad and in a good old 442 he will still grab plenty of goals, but he simply wouldn't work with our style of play anymore.

I believe he was told, prior to his move over there, that there was no such thing as 'off-side' in the MLS. He now realises there's no such thing as a "dream come true".
