Improvement.

Improvement such that his team becomes one that is capable of reproducing a consistently effective and attractive pattern of play in both defence and attack, whomever the opposition.

If he can achieve that but we still only finish 5th, I'll be happy nevertheless.

That is different than the thread title - I "expect" to see a more consistent team, I don't think there is anything he "must" achieve next year.

So many variables go into a season, or even a game for me to worry about results specifically - injuries, transfers, overloaded schedule, etc.

I'd like to see us competitive in every game - if we are competitive, I'll be happy. I hate watching games where we don't look like we give a shit.

2 of the following 3.

1) A real top 4 challenge in the league. Not like this season where the players end up with no motivation with 8 games left.
2) A strong run in the EL, semis or better.
3) A good run and possibly a final in one of the two domestic cups.

Most of all: play MUCH better football than we are this season.

if he is backed, i'd hope he would have a squad to produce a good challenge for the top 4, better management of the squad in Europa and CC, and a real push for the FA Cup

I actually agree with BC, and feel if we could play with vim, tempo and perhaps add a bit of swagger then 1 of my hopes might be fulfilled and could end up winning us trophies.

our 12th man needs transferring, cause they don't make enough noise at home, even if they are tops away. get the above, get the 12th man watching and roaring again, instead of discussing what they did last week when a match is in progress, or moaning every time a pass goes astray. both against arscum and chelscum this season, when going a goal down they got behind the team, the games v WBA, Newcastle & Stoke at home, they might as well of gone home after we went behind
