  • fecking dcl
  • Richarlison 1-0
  • Spurs leading Everton. Richarlison now on form.
  • Spurs are wracked by injuries and suspensions. Look at the goal they just scored. Sigh.
  • Good goal that. Spurs supporters must have whiplash going from the likes of Mourinho and Conte to this.
  • Nice goal for sure
  • Everton robbed there. Penalty all day long
Spurs are wracked by injuries and suspensions. Look at the goal they just scored. Sigh.
  • Exactly. And they play like this week in week out regardless of their personnel. But ETH needs the right conditions to play the style of football he wants whatever the feck that is.
  • Spurs now two up. Son.
  • That Big Ange guy turned out to be a total fraud. Definitely not the master tactician our bald genius is.
  • Spurs have been playing like how I want my team to play, absolute joy to watch
  • Everton should have at least one goal here
  • Blatant shirt pulling by Spurs player not even considered by ref or VAR. Probably because the Everton player wasn't falling down or flailing around, he continued to attack towards flight of the ball.
  • 2-1 DCL finally a good finish
  • Everton get one back at Spurs . Andre Gomes. 2-1.
  • Crazy finish in the spurs game
  • Tottenham's players require great physical fitness. Their last 30 mins are very laborious most of the time.
  • Danjuma can feck off.
  • Why is he not playing that across the box there!

Would have thought United fans would be cheering us considering Everton are not too far behind them

Honestly, this happens quite a lot. Sometimes it's his hand, other times his foot. Occasionally a shoulder. But usually yes, if it wasn't for the goalie's <insert part of body>, it would've been a goal.

Apart from also being offside

Arsenal fans are so blinkered- they only see what they want to see.

Still they are top at Christmas and just like the decorations they’ll be taken down soon enough

From Grand ol Team

“He tried to protect the ball by putting his body across Gomez. He wasn't strong enough and collapsed under pressure. If anything it was a foul on Gomes. Neil Lennon called it correct.”

They really are a different species in that part of the world.
Neil Lennon didn't even say that lol. He said he'd have been embarrassed if it were him not that it was a foul on Gomes

This is the point I have been trying to make about ETH.

Coaches hardly ever have perfect conditions. There are always injuries, ref decisions, suspensions or fixture congestions etc

But a good coach does well despite them.

ETH has shown nothing these last few months

Exactly. And with our injuries RN, we clearly fall away when changes are made and the quality really drops.

Injuries back and a few more canny additions and we'll be finishing games stronger than we start them again.

The guy has absolutely zero charisma at all too. Would make it so difficult to even want him to pull through it. We’re really lucky we’ve got both a great coach and a really cool guy as our manager.

Yeah funnily enough when he was linked to us the very first time I remember someone saying when he speaks English he isn't very charismatic, quite awkward even.

I think you can see that. Although, that's quite a harsh criticism as its not nice to say someone lacks that. But it does matter and some people do just have a natural ability

Villa Talk
  • that was a different phase of play for everton? less time than goal we missed out on
  • 1-0 spuds
  • Think Spurs are the biggest threat to 4th spot.
  • Now they have Richarlison back, scoring for fun.
  • Spurs are going to be a real handful when they get Maddison and Van De Ven back.
Think Spurs are the biggest threat to 4th spot.
  • Agreed. We really need to maintain our form and beat Man Utd and Burnley.
  • Yep, they're a good side unfortunately
  • Need 6 points in the next 2 or Spurs is gonna overtake us
  • Tin hat on. I think we're going to need 5th place to be a CL spot 😬
  • Do we really want a Champions League spot, as we haven't go the squad for lots of games. We will just do a Newcastle and be downbeat.
  • It allows us to keep our best players while adding a few more of similar quality. Also the prospect of seeing Villa play teams like Real Madrid would be surreal.
  • Think Brighton will get something off Spurs on boxing day. Spurs also got Man. United away without Son and Bissouma in mid January. Spurs are good but they're not going on some 10 match winning streak. [VillaChris]
Brighton don't really look as sharp this season
  • Yes have to agree I would expect spurs to beat Brighton but you never know
  • Everton been on the Christmas party. Tottenham don't look great, but 2-0 up.
  • Spurs are a threat. Without 3 of their best players today. And fair play to them.
  • No idea how Everton haven't scored!
  • everton been great the last 10minutes. Half time coming at wrong time for them
  • VAR bailing out spurs
  • Ffs Everton get a goal back and VAR re referees it to rule it out
  • VAR helping out spurs there
  • No surprise VAR helping out their old favorites😀
  • How did Spurs get themselves into the friends of PGMOL club?
  • Spuds been poor since the 2nd goal, lucky to still be winning. Of course helps when you get decisions 😑
  • Not a foul at all. Everton robbed earlier.
  • That is a big issue with VAR getting involved, over ruling the ref who blatently saw it and thought nothing of it. Further proof VAR is in control not on field referree. It's a absolute shocker this weekend including our game, must have been the PGMOL christmas party last week, an they are all still pizzed.
  • everton get 1 back. cmon
  • C’mon Everton. Can’t let VAR rob them today.
  • everton deserve a draw
  • Ange's style of football riding its luck today for sure
  • Everton hit the bar and it bounced on the line 😤
  • everton robbed by VAR.
  • Everton shafted today. VAR is rotten.
  • Spuds are so effing lucky. Distasteful.
Brighton don't really look as sharp this season
  • It's still a tough away game and likes of Mitoma, Buaonette and Welbeck will enjoy the space Spurs give you in final third. Was watching the end after Everton got the goal back and Andre Gomes was passing through Spurs midfield with ease, Everton had a 3 on 2 in the 94th minute so Brighton will get chances for sure. Bournemouth won't be easy for Spurs either given how they're playing currently and the form Solanke is in. [VillaChris]
  • Judging from the decisions in our game and at the Spurs game today, I'd tell the VAR lads to lay off the Christmas booze
  • Tottenham we have to worry about, they have Brighton, Bournmouth, Burnley next.
Tottenham we have to worry about, they have Brighton, Bournmouth, Burnley next.
  • If they go above us so be it. There was a mass panic on here in October when they were top and about 7 points clear but we whittled it away no problem after they imploded in the Chelsea game. They're a good team. They're going to win games as the season goes on but we finished above them last season and I think with their general style they'll have another 1 win in 5 run at some stage in the season so up to us to capitalise on it when it happens as we did during November. KUMB
  • Nonsense VAR at Spurs that in the end scrubs off an Everton goal.. wasn't a foul at all. Oliver in the VAR room recommended it.
  • 2-1 at Spurs, Everton have been by far the better team since going 2-0 down. Dyche went two up top with 15 to go to chase this down - they were bossing it anyway at that point.
  • Spuds incredibly lucky to win as Everton missed so many chances and a goal struck off for a soft foul.
  • Very disappointing result at Spurs (despite loathing Everton). A draw would have been my preferred result. Seeing Son framing his mug like some Hollywood tosser (on the BBC site) filled my mouth with sick. Odious w**ker!

RAWK
  • Everton are playing in .... gasp .... red???
  • that’s not red - salmon or guava- not red
  • Yeah I've got this one and the Spuds v BS on.
  • Pigeon 1-0. simple goal.
  • salmon is a shade of red. close enough for me anyhow.
  • Pigeon scores a tap in
  • If McNeil had a brain he could have played his pass early and had Calvert Lewin in for a one on one. Standing in his own half begging for the pass while McNeil tries his best Messi impression and delays.
  • Richie La 😂😂
  • Wtf was Tarkowski doing there? Didn't look interested in running at all.
  • Meanwhile Richalrisons so dumb he scores then tries to not celebrate against his old side... after he's already celebrated
  • Son 2-0
  • Calvert Lewin still needs 5 chances to score I see
  • Can't believe we didn't beat this shite, so mad.. Also fuck off Everton
  • Pickford blocked a hard shot and just pushed back into a crowd of players.
  • Brilliant assist from Pickford for Spurs’ second.
  • Nice pass to Son from T Rex arms very Onana esk
  • The unhinged one paffing balls into danger with his Jurassic arms
  • Sean Dyche had shipped 9 goals in his last 2 games here. That's 11 already. Defo not his ground.
  • slick move Spurs
Huh - Gomez on for the Ev .... completely forgot he was still with them. oh, he was on loan all of last season.
Gomes came in as Gueye went off injured after a Richarlison ‘tackle’. Where have we seen Richie crippling an opposition player?
Bitters all over Spurs here...
  • Pressing and playing really well. Deserved one goal at least but feeble shots.
  • On that second goal, it looked like Pickers was too busy trying to buy a call to stop the shot - i.e., the usual.
  • 2-1 Ev DCL
  • Foul getting over turned
  • Ruled out, Gomes went straight through him.
  • sad
  • Mike Dean says it shouldn't have been overturned, minimal contact, very very soft
  • It was a clear foul. The Spurs player was shielding the ball and it was a foul to knock him over. Good call.
  • I’m amazed that even Mike Dean (along with Dyche and Tarkowski) thought that goal should stand. 100% a foul.
Spurs join the list of just go down if anyone pressures you teams. Cant put any form of pressure on, they hit the deck and get a freekick every time.
  • Joined the list? They started it
  • It's the only way to play in the PL now. It's a non contact sport.
  • it's getting worse than that. seen 3-4 games recently where the ref has stooped play coz a player needs to re-tie his boots. ludicrous.
It's the only way to play in the PL now. It's a non contact sport.
  • But not for Liverpool.
  • 50 year old fellas need the game to keep stopping so they can last the pace.
I’m amazed that even Mike Dean (along with Dyche and Tarkowski) thought that goal should stand. 100% a foul.
  • This nonsense that it’s “too soft” does my head in. There’s no way the Everton player was getting near the ball without the foul. If the Spurs player had gone down with no contact then I agree but the contact caused him to fall and therefore it’s a foul.
The simple questions to answer are:
- Did the Spurs player dive or fall himself………no.
- Did the Everton player get the ball…….no.
- Did the contact cause the Spurs player to fall…….yes.
Following that list it is a clear foul.
  • Who ‘s the rent-a-gob with the Estuary English co-commenting the Spuds game? He needs to turn the volume down, or better still, off.
  • Dyche losing his shit over the spurs dives :lmao
  • Can Everton sneak one more goal!
  • Everton should be about 4-2 up here
Dyche losing his shit over the spurs dives
  • Of which there are a fucking plethora, after ever single tackle...
  • it's who they are mate
Of which there are a fucking plethora, after ever single tackle...
  • I thought kicking the ball away was a yellow.
  • Ridiculous mate. All game long. And their fans have the audacity to claim since our game they've been given nothing by refs
  • Danjuma FFS
  • how fucking shite is Danjuma ffs
  • Everton should’ve gotten something here, so many chances to score.
  • Shout out to Ben Davies, who’s been a rock at left CB over the past few games. Oliver Skipp though, how is he playing at this level? Not sure I wouldn’t have minded a draw.
  • Everton were Pickford's little finger away from 2 all
  • Spurs very very lucky to win, Everton had so many chances, they were much the better team
Everton should’ve gotten something here, so many chances to score.
  • Yes they played well and almost won (drew) the game.
Yes they played well and almost won (drew) the game.
  • Bet they won a famous corner though. Ooh err missus, it’s starting to get a bit tight around the bottom though.

True. But there are some legitimate questions in there that other teams will ask about whether our style of play under Ange is sustainable. I hope it is, obviously, and the signs are good but it's still early days.

I’m genuinely stunned by how many people are trying to claim it wasn’t a foul on royal. Just shows how blinkered fans have become - it’s not remotely debatable

It's actually mental that a couple of people on Rawk of all places, saw it as the foul it was.
Maybe they're not all the deluded ****s I thought they were! 🤣

Most of these opposition fans are basing their opinions on MOTD...

Which was heavily skewed towards Everton's chances....

Where the fuck was the Johnson chance, arguably biggest of the game?

We had loads of promising attacks, none showed.

I think people are not even looking at the kick on Emerson, they're just looking at the upper body contact
