A few of them saying they should have been out of sight are deluded. Bar the maddison mistake what the hell did they create? Two shots for impossible angles?
Ignoring we had 3 much bigger chances in that time.

To be fair, had Jesus(?) buried that fumble from Maddison and got 2-0, we could have been a different game.

Merson, though. Fair play to him - he's looked at it from a perspective that, if we're honest, many of us feared. Would the space that we leave behind be exploited by a more capable side than what we've played thus far? It's a fair question, and he decided to lump on ... publicly.

He's a gooner, and I respect that he's made that prediction. But the question's been answered, and he's lost his bet ... publicly. It doesn't make him (any more of) an arse to my mind. It just means he has to eat a plate of shit now.

If he wandered into my local right now, I'd buy him a pint ... to help wash that shit down. Just one of footy's pleasantries, to my mind.
Not sure buying Merson a pint is a good idea.

  • Well deserved goal that. Spurs looked dangerous for a good 10 minutes. Right in this
  • Hahaha - go and celebrate with Saka Maddison
  • Maddison is good and tottenham are playing much better than i thought before this season
  • Madison and Son did very well there
  • Spurs have been good apart from the goal they conceded
  • Absolutely brilliant footballer Maddison is, a level above his teammates. Waistcoat has to start playing him permanently
  • Great game for the neutrals......How cliched
    Football's the winner
  • Fair play...some assist that from Maddison. Had to be inch perfect for Son and it was
  • Maddison is a top class player. Set up that goal
  • Postecoglou clearly has something about him and they could be dark horses for the league this season.
  • Thoroughly enjoyed that 1st half of Arsenal v Spurs.
    Proper derby feel.
Love watching Madison, think he’d have been a better signing for us than Nunes.
  • Some seriously questionable refereeing in this game and League.
I'd be peed off of I was a spurs supporter. (2 of many posts about how shit the ref was and how he was giving everything to Arsenal)
  • Spurs have been a team I have historically disliked, but I'm right behind them today. I fucking hate Arsenal.
  • This is a great game
  • Madison and Son show for Spurs!
  • Cracking game, come on Spuds
  • Lovely from Son. Such a good player
  • Excellent response from the football gods for the giving of that 1000% bent penalty.
    Mwahahaha
  • Spurs actually look a good team this season. Deserve something from this game.
  • I think Ange is doing a good job. Cant deny spurs are playing much better footy than previously
  • Superb by Spurs. Unlucky with the final ball. Passing around Arsenal with precision
  • Spurs paying some nice football.
Be a good game when we play them
  • Strange taking off best 2 players
Ange been told how many minutes they'll give Arsenal to score if they need them so he's saving his players fitness
  • Spurs have worked themselves out of defence really well on occasions. Actually very impressed
  • Spurs are shit
  • Until they play us
  • Fuck me this manager has made a difference at spurs
  • Arsenal are all emotion with no delivery when it matters.
  • Spurs a better side than them imo.
  • Udogie started slow but by the end of the match, I was very, very impressed by him.
  • Always enjoy watching Arsenal v Spurs games. Spurs played well after a poor first 20 mins or so.

This is what they said about yesterday's game last week. They never learn do they?
To be honest Liverpool are far more clinical than Arsenal, so we do have to be switched on. But we'll worry about that on Saturday. For now enjoy the week and proving the doubters wrong (including myself regarding Arsenal away).

Yeah it could, but that was after a lucky deflected goal. If Johnson buried his chance it would be 1-1, lots of ifs and buts but bar that one chance what did they create?
Am I being deluded but outside of Jesus chance I only remember the jesys shot from an impossible angle and nketiah from an impossible angle too. Both are barely chances.
There’s a reason our xg (sorry) in the first half was 1 and theirs was 0.73. Hardly they should be 4-1 up is it?
It’s funny they talk about of if we took our chances because if we took ours it would also be a different game

City supporters seem to really dislike everyone, but their current hatred of all things ArseHoleNal is almost at our level! Seems we're not the only ones to have clocked that they've only had one outstanding season ending in failure in return for a £500m investment into a trust the process project of indeterminate time frame.

  • good afternoon of football tbf
I do like the North London derby as a spectacle and can watch that and listen to ours on the radio
  • North London dickheads derby today. Knowing some ok Gooners, who are old school I Usually would want Arsenal to embarrass Spurs, however given the next level idiocy from Arsenal fans in the summer and since I’m now not sure. Arteta is a prick who seems to get away with everything on the touch line, the way they try and make that North London Forever dirge sound like it’s a proper club anthem, when it was written last year.
Saying that Maddison is a prick and the press seem to think Ange is the next progressive manager off the block when he hasn’t really beaten anyone of note yet.
  • I would always prefer Arsenal to beat Spurs as SPurs have always been my kryptonite, and my SPurs supporting mates are far more annoying than my Arsenal ones - but Arteta does make that difficult
  • can’t stand Arteta. Quite like Ange though.
When I tell my Arsenal mates I can’t stand Arteta they genuinely can’t understand why
    :crylol:

    Explains a lot
  • It's crazy how many of them don't see it.
I'd hazard a guess he's the least liked manager in the league.
He's an absolute scrotum of a person
  • Whats with the Arse fans behind the goal dressed in black ? Has there been a funeral? an Arteta fan club ? Don't tell me they are 'Arsenal ultras' ffs really?
  • Club organised ultra’s.. you gotta laugh.

The Office gif. Steve Carell as Michael stares deadpan ahead, focus zooming in on his unthrilled face.

What's the deal with City and United fans calling Arsenal The Tarquins?

That just goes way over my head.

I think it’s just a posh/middle class jab.
A bit like the fast show sketch that I can’t be arsed to dig out a link for.

Aren't Tarquins the posh boys, the public schoolboys boys from Islington. So, a kind of rebuff to the Arsenal ultras or whatever silliness they call themselves?

Absolutely blows my mind that after they got a lucky deflection from a shot that was going wide, a pen that wasn't a pen, and should have had Nketiah (?) sent off for a horrific potentially season ending 'tackle' that they think they deserved all points.

A teeny weeny bit of objectivity after the initial emotional outbursts would serve all footy fans of all clubs well.

  • 5LIve raving endlessly about Postecoglou...5 games in. Only beat Sheff United last week with the help of 10 minutes of additional time played. Ridiculous over egging of a manager unproven in the PL. Spurs tendency for hiring and firing managers means Post will be doing well if he's still in the job this time next year.
  • Spurs always been the media darlings club
  • because it’s a London club
  • Want the Spurs withering flowers to ideally win or draw against the Asses today. 4/5 points buffer would be fab this early on!
  • Fuck it, c'mon Spurs
  • "The Greatest Derby Ever" ©SkySports
  • Two teams I despise.
    Come on Spursy (ffs)

  • They’re separating the fams from the bluds
  • Cue someone always saying some non-descriptive b@llocks about "the shift in the balance of power in North London."
  • Not a single soul outside of North London gives a fuck about it. If I'm asked to name the top local derbies in England, you go manchester, merseyside, tyne and wear, Birmingham, sheffield before even considering North London
  • I’ve always found this one of the best derbies. And it’s got a really good back story.
  • Millwall vs West Ham shits all over this as a spectacle.
    Sky are desperate ****s
  • 2 detestable, entitled clubs and fans.
    Some Sunday afternoon entertainment.
The Arreta being a complete tw#t factor, has me favouring Spuds.
  • Spurs boss looks like the kind of bloke you see in your local squeezed into a table with his skinny, leathered face missus wearing a dress two sizes too small.
  • Udogie is clueless at fullback, his positioning is crap. Looked better going forward, that's probably his true position.
  • Fuck off Spurs
  • Spurs getting found out here
  • Spurs trying to play out from the back is truly frightening. It’s going to cost them as players like Udogie aren’t good enough to do it
  • Cmon then Ange let's see how good a manager you are

  • A jibe at Maddison?
  • 100% knob head move

  • He’s class
  • This is the famous Ange's style of football is it? It’s fucking crap
  • They may be behind by Spurs have taken this right to Gunners. Dominated possession, had a few good chances. It took Arteta 1-2 years to get his team to this level
  • Spurs seem to have figured out how to attack them.
    Deserved equaliser.

There's some proper entitled twats on there. I remember when they picked Neil McNab up out of our dustbin and he was their best player for a few seasons.

They're the luckiest team in the league and it's not even close. Sickening the amount of things go their way.
