I was at the game and was quite surprised by the 12 to be honest. I was also surprised we only got 3 the first half, so probably evened itself out.

The keeper for all the booing basically gave up time wasting after the first half but the crowd started booing basically from the moment the ball would go out for a goal kick. Where they did waste time was players going down injured, keeper throwing his gloves off both times, then having to take time put them back on.

Side note but what on earth happened with one of those short corners where two balls came on the pitch? First time we got given possession via drop ball, but the second time the ref gave it to them, on what grounds?! We had the ball!

Thought the ref had lost it for much of that second half.
Laws say anytime play is stopped and the ball is in the box, the ball is dropped to the goalkeeper - no matter who had possession.

A few fans talking about us celebrating beating a newly promoted side like we won the league.
They just don't get what it is like to have been a Spurs fan for the last few years.

I saw a West Ham supporting dad at my son’s football match today. Very first thing he said to me was ‘12 minutes. Typical homer ref for the big clubs’. My reply was ‘it’s very obvious from your comment that you didn’t see the game’. He said ‘no I didn’t’. I proceeded to explain the goalie sitting on his arse for ages and also talking his gloves off and throwing them etc, the 5 or 6 players that went down for no reason (fake cramp) while their physios (one of whom had really fucking short legs) jogged on at 0.1mph to save them from dying… and the goalie again taking at least 10-12 seconds each goal kick etc. He then said to me ‘oh, in the case I’m glad you beat them. I fucking hate time wasting’, which was surprisingly nice to hear.

Moral of the story? If it had been the live tv game on a Sunday, no fan in their right mind would’ve been surprised at the 12 minutes. They just automatically think that big teams at home get advantages.

* I did mention to the West Ham dad afterwards that even though he was trying to use it against us, he called us a big club and I will never let him forget it.

Ever.

Same comments when we won at Leicester a couple of seasons back.

Any fan who doesn’t celebrate like a nutter for minutes afterwards after scoring 2 injury time goals to win a match after being behind…. just doesn’t get football.

As if fans of any team wouldn't get a huge buzz from winning in that fashion. Yes, it was a game we were expected to win, but to win when you were 1 down that late in the game is really rare and feels awesome, no matter the opposition.

The Hammer was probably drawing crude pictures in the dirt with a stick.
Think less sophisticated cave paintings.

Not even that, just the manner of how the game went with all that time wasting. It was glorious karma thrown back in their faces.

Everyone is outraged.

The referee lost control of the game. The only really outrageous decision was the failure to give a penalty for the foul on madders.
Yeah do not get how it is wasn’t one. He literally kicks him from behind

He really should screen grab and show some of it.

Because it seems like there is little coob

Are there any examples of what was actually said?
No, sorry. I looked on Instagram and can't see anything, but people are saying they've been deleted.

Maybe still on Twitter, but I'm not on it.

This is what is written when you don't watch a full game of football, you just are an armchair fan of any club.

Incredible naivety.

"So how is it the Spurs vs Sheff u are got 13 minutes added when only 1 second half goal had been scored before extra time, yet the United vs Brighton one got 6 minutes for 3 second half goals"

Big ange thread over on a Celtic page:

Loved this post:

"I laughed at that result, equalised 98th minute, winner 100th minute, 104th minute the cherry on top was McDonkey getting a red"

🤣🤣

Never heard him say a positive thing about spurs and believe he's an arsenal fan.
He's just an idiot who knows nothing about football, let alone players that aren't from the UK.
It's not just us and our players that he talks utter nonsense about, he just talks utter nonsense and that's why he's employed by Sky.

I mean, confusing an idiot with an Arsenal fan is an easy mistake to make though, so don't worry too much. 😁

Literally every fan of any club cheers when their team scores a goal, more so if it is a goal that puts you in the lead and especially so if it's a last minute winner.

It's like we all watch football for the entertainment whether watching in the stadium or with family and friends at home or in the pub. If you can't celebrate moments like that, then it's like what you getting out of it? I still remember the last minute winner against city just after they equalised, during Conte's first season. Pretty sure I lapped my flat 50 times.

Any opposing fan criticising is literally just bitter as they thought we had lost to Sheffield and their moment to go "honeymoon period is over" was snatched away.

Next time a team scores a late goal to win a game against lower opposition the person on the tannoy should come on and say "This is only Sheffield United. Calm down. Get back in your seats".

Then a player should do an interview where he says "We are ashamed we only won in the last minute and it is nothing to celebrate"

Tell that to fans who say you shouldnt celebrate in this manner and see if they see how ridículous it sounds.
