I've found football fans on reddit to be far more level headed and less prone to the tribal tub-thumping seen on RAWK.

I don't really like reddit's downvote system, but where football is concerned it does at least help to mitigate the more insane stuff.

I've seen quite a few Spurs fans on twitter now asking to replay the game where Vertonghen was judged offside incorrectly against Sunderland.

But we actually won that game.

If there was one team on earth that would have to replay two matches they won.....
When we beat Wigan 9-1, Wigan's goal was actually offside. Just saying.

Let them cry. There is a non-trivial chance that the club will fixate on this all season and have a terrible campaign.

There won’t be a replay, we wouldn’t agree and it would be straight to court. There is no way the PL are setting that precedent either. Liverpool are trying to exert undue influence over referees and that could backfire too. I would expect the VAR gifts they continually have been given since VAR’s implementation may stop as well which will be magic.

Until today, I really respected Klopp. Now, I don’t. As this sort of victimization vitriol is intensely childish, and pathetically selfish. First with trying to repeal the Jones card and now demanding a replay. He’s chumming the waters full of scouse sharks… whipping them into a deranged frenzy.
For many years now, most Liverpool managers (notably Dalglish, Benitez, Rodgers, and now Klopp) have spouted absolutely nonsensical, crowd-pleasing crap, so Klopp isn't on his own here. I've thought for some time that it's probably the Liverpool FC press office that is providing their managers with various "lines to take", then encouraging their tame journalists to amplify the message, with the cynical intention of whipping up their fan base. It's actually got damn-all to do with the rest of us...

Twitter is having a good old laugh about all this. Someone asked Vertonghen to get ready for the CL final replay and he said ‘count me in’. Gary Neville just put lots of laughing emojis (even though he didn’t help on the day!)

Meanwhile Klopp has said Jota didn’t touch anyone at all on both yellows.

Deranged. Can you think of a better suited manager for Liverpool.
Revisionist red card for Jota on Skipp plz Klopp… how du like them Äpfels( apples)

This shows how these people still don't get it when he said Postecoglu took off Son to take the draw. They can't begin to grasp that he took him off because he wanted to win, he'd took a knock that's all.
….don’t reckon Ange would play for anything less than a win in each game…. “Take a draw ?” It’s not his style

Ange is managing Son's groin issue, was always the plan to take him off.

They've no fucking clue what they're talking about.

Klopp needs to be really careful because if there is extreme violence when we play them at their place he could be done for incitement. A bit like that other mad man, Trump

Very good point. Did we ask for the game to be replayed? Did we say it called into question the integrity of the league? No. We accepted the decision, said it's part of football & moved on

Wolves posted a funny TikTok reminding Liverpool that they had a perfectly good goal against them disallowed in the FA cup last year. It was 2-2 and Wolves scored in the last minute to ‘win’ the game. It was chalked off for offside but afterwards they produced an angle that Mike Dean didn’t have that proved it was onside. So the game finished 2-2.

I kid you not, without any hint of irony, one Liverpool fan responded by saying ‘But this went to a replay anyway so they did get it’.

With that line alone, you may be forgiven for thinking this was a brilliantly humorous reply. You’d be wrong. He then went on to dispute other things in the same post ‘We had the same thing happen to us last year against Arsenal’ etc which confirmed his conspiracy status.

It was pointed out to the Liverpool fan by a Wolves fan that, of course, ‘It wouldn’t have needed a replay if the goal correctly stood you moron’. The Liverpool fan replied ‘Okay can you read or not? The TikTok said if liverpool get a replay then Wolves would be entitled to. You had one and you lost, wipe the tears away and read 👍

Different breed. Different fucking breed.

Oh of course. I’ve finally bitten in one group this morning and told them the red cards were correct and stop crying etc, and I’ve now been given a list of grievances arising from that game about the officiating. All of which prejudiced Liverpool of course. The notion that the ref - or any ref over the past 100 years - got anything wrong which even remotely favoured Liverpool is fanciful and how dare I consider such a thing.

But let’s not forget they’re ‘finally standing up’ for all clubs and we should be forever grateful.

Thankyou Liverpool. We’d be lost without you.

Well, maybe not lost, but 3 points worse off certainly.

At Anfield with Carragher special guest referee, Souness 4th official and Jamie Redknapp on var duty
A special guest referee always used to spell trouble in the wrestling. I could easily see Vicario taking a steel chair to the head from Carragher before they score into an open net. This can’t be allowed to happen!

I’ve written a few responses on X to articles about this and then just not bothered posting them. Just because it isn’t worth the hassle of having scousers jumping on anything that doesn’t suit their warped imaginations.
