Everyone keeps saying we haven't faced anyone yet, but its only really Man City left isn't it? And doesn't everyone get beat by City really? So...it means shit? And even if we did beat City, it would be Spurs were lucky and someone will tonk them sooner or later, but doesn't EVERY club take a weird old tonking every now and then... so it means shit?
I would argue that Brighton, Newcastle, Villa and Chelsea (Who seem to have found some form) are all worrying games.... and West Ham will be up for their cup final even more if it means it gets in our way of something meaningful. I can see all clubs including us and City dropping plenty of points this season the longer we can stay top the better as having something to hold onto is easier than chasing.

I do think that if we can stay top for a while longer Lego Pep will feel the pressure and Arsenals blow up may come earlier this season which would be great to see.

I take your point about those Clubs and I agree, especially Newcastle, however when people speak about facing bigger and better clubs we all know who they are talking about.

Grand Old Team
  • Spurs take a wrecking ball to Fulham?
  • They're battering these
  • Thought our Richy had buried that, there. Unlucky, son
  • Richy's crossing game in particular has looked strong tonight.
  • Where can spurs finish?
    Hopefully above RS anyway
  • Missed a trick not luring that former celtic manager to everton
  • Best signing of the summer (Maddison) and worst signing of the summer (Bassey) both on display tonight
  • I love big Ange and the way he tries to play football but his style combined with our players could’ve been an absolute car crash
  • Spurs are so bang average.. they’ll struggle to get top 5
  • Totally disagree. Was never in doubt today as it should be against a side like Fulham. They’ll be top 4 and if they make it to January within shouting distance and bring in a top tier striker that becomes a pretty complete side which will only improve with more continuity
  • Put a top striker into that side ( sadly in place of Richy ) then Spurs will look even better.
However too early to judge if this iteration of Spurs is any less spursy than any of the others that have flattered to deceive
  • They could do a Leicester if they avoid injuries to key players. I'm not sure their squad is good enough otherwise. It's going great though
  • Romero and Van Der Venn look a good pairing at CB. That has stiffened them up imo. Also Kulusevski doesn't muck about and the keeper is an upgrade. They look all right.
looks to see who they are playing next....DOH!
  • Big ange is the man i love him more and more each week

Imagine being an Everton fan and thinking this Spurs team looks bang average. The sheer cheek.

It’s so funny how opposition fans like to state stuff when we are only 9 games in. I wouldn’t want to call anything with only 10 games left. We know more than most how things can come crashing down in just a couple of games. If we have a game left and we are 6 points ahead then I’ll start to believe.
That's when I'd be worried about the Liverpool replay 😒😂😂

Oh yeah, I'm believing more that we've got a shout with every week that goes by.
It's a long shot but in football, you never know and we've as good a chance as anyone now.
The confidence that's building throughout the team can be so important and while we've got a bit of a light squad, with a bit of luck we could certainly be there or there abouts.
If you think a 2 point lead over Man City means we have as good a chance as them, I’ll have some of what you’re smoking 😀

If we beat Palace I’ll go from 0% believing we can win the title to 1% believing we can do it.

Not getting carried away yet but it will get very slightly harder not to.

Yeah I get keep thinking this. Everyone saying we need one. Yet son has 7 in 7 games playing at striker.
If anything we need 15-20 goal a season winger.
Yeah I feel the same. I think if Johnson doesn’t pan out very well then our wingers are going to be the reason we come up short. Biggest weakness in our starting 11 by some distance for me.

You mean City our favourite opponents? The same City who have yet to score at our new Stadium?
Liverpool (home or away) and Arsenal away are tougher fixtures than them historically

Well, I think its more than City.

Villa, Brighton, Newcastle - all finished ahead of us last season, and have strong squads. Chelsea is a tough match, and West Ham, on their day, can be a challenge.

Lets see where we are at Christmas.

Of course City are the team to beat and obviously massive favourites for the title but from what I've seen so far, we've got as good a chance as anyone of providing a challenge to them.
The supposed other challengers for the title are Liverpool and the Gooners but I don't personally think they look any better than we do.
Of course it's not going to be easy but there's every chance we can push for a proper challenge this year.
It's going to be an enjoyable and tight season this year.

Look at the responses to this tweet. At this point the tribalism is just getting weird. Nobody can give another club any praise whatsoever.

For me it would have to be this and the Chelsea game tbh. Chelsea have started finding form and it would feel like we are making real headway in a traditionally tricky fixture for us. But like I say it would be 1% for the myriad of reasons that have been stated.

An acquaintance said to me this afternoon, "a routine win to go back top after everyone else played and went above you this weekend seems different."

It does a little tbf. Not that it means ermehgherd, we're winning da leeg! But the almost total lack of drama yesterday was most welcome.

Just impressive how quickly a marked shift is being seen by not just us Spurs fans. Not even ten league games into his reign yet. Imagine how good we'll be after a full season and more additions to the squad under Ange?

I dont think they know what “spursy” means. We have plenty of time for that to happen.
