It is just wild to me. This hatred.

I could understand if we had kicked them off the park or we had a lot of brawls with them but we have literally done nothing except dare to beat them.
Its so simple.

The reason why we are hated so much is because we are a big club. We've always been a big club but we've not been a successful club in terms of silverware so there was always the "warra trophy" that could be thrown at us.

Now that we look like a team that can seriously win and potentially win it all in the next few years everyone is shitting themselves because as a club we have the potential to be up there with Man City and Man Utd financially and also mixing that with being a very well run club.

They are scared

TBF our fixture list has been good to us but that's not our fault or takes anything away from our performances and unlike before we have been winning the games we never normally win

If in 6 games time we are still top of the league, then no can say shit and deserved to be taken seriously as title challengers

As a spurs fan the next 6 fixtures are brutal:
Chelsea (H) - don't need to explain
Wolves (A) - Hate going there
Aston Villa (H) - This imo the easiest fixture in this group
Man City (A) - Historically we are good there BUT we have won by parking the bus lately
West Ham (H) - No explanation necessary
Newcastle (H) - Tough fixture

Its not our fault that we are playing these teams in this group but I don't care if someone says we had a fixture list, so what?

We have had easy fixture before and never been this good
Villa will be just as tough as Newcastle IMO. Probably tougher as Emery is a great coach and they have some excellent players.

I've always found this thread weird but entertaining :D

People post laughable comments from fans of other clubs. SC posts responses and rebuttals which the authors of said posts will never read, to an audience that needs no convincing and all the while, in threads all over the shop, SC'ers are equally ridiculous, sour and hateful about other clubs. Who's fans probably trawl those comments over to their sites and make responses which in turn the good residents of SC will never read.

For anyone studying for a degree in the psychology of football fans, tribalism or sociology, this is all required reading :D
Big difference is that we know what we’re talking about and are correct in our assessments of other teams 99.9% of the time. We’re clearly the most knowledgeable fan base in the world from what I’ve seen and nothing anyone says can ever change my mind. It’s not our fault we’re such tactically astute scholars of the game while everyone else has straw for brains!

…..,yes, you are absolutely correct, but, outside the transfer window, it’s my favourite thread….

Villa this season:
Home
4 Games
4 Wins
17 goals scored
3 goals conceded

Away
5 games
2 wins
1 draw
2 losses
6 goals scored
10 goals conceded

Not saying it will be easy, its gonna be tough but the others are also tough games

The 2 away games they lost were against Newcastle and Liverpool, who are probably the two toughest away games in the league.

Also, Newcastle have only won 1 away game this season and that was v Sheff Utd.

I do agree that every single one of those games will be tough though.

I think we'll come out of this run in decent shape still. Very good teams, all of them, but that means they won't just camp in their own half which is good for us.

Still nuts to think we're a team who welcomes an opponent who pushes up. The last 3 years were like a punishment.

I suppose the simple and obvious truth of the matter is, if we’re not good enough to win more of these tough games than anyone else, we aren’t good enough to win the league.

If we are, we will.

  • Palace under the lights are usually a good watch, should be a fun game tonight, they'll be well up for it.
They’d better be. Seem to remember Spurs next few fixtures being quite kind so this feels like their best chance of dropping points for a while. Which is a bit mad when you’re pinning your hopes on the owl.
  • How did Spurs get such a simple first 10 games
  • On another forum they'll be complaining they've had to play Monday then Friday in the same week.
    I must admit that's a bit unusual
  • Postecoglu is quite likeable but Tottenham are still as bad as ever in the diving stakes
  • How are they not embarrassed by that shit.
  • Spurs fans moaning on the bbc site that they get no help from the officials
  • context of BBC is that it would be Spursy (i.e - a failure) for them to finish 5th after this start to the season.
So Spurs guaranteed CL and probably Title Contenders apparently. Considering 5th is 7 points behind with a game in hand that is of course completely insurmountable.
Frankly Spurs are absolutely running away with it, let's be honest
  • Spurs have looked ropey when pressed in defense all season. So big brain Hodgson does the complete opposite
  • Didn’t watch the game, just saw the score and they got 2 goals with 1 shot on target
    ;D
When your luck's in your luck's in I spose!
  • Nonsense, they're amazing, no one could have done a better job after 10 games than Postecoglu.
  • VDV looks some player. Shame we didn't take the plunge.
  • Win our next two and we're above Spurs before they play next
  • Absolutely everything is going their way at the moment - crazy decisions, OGs, late late goals, no injuries, no midweek games.
But the bit people are missing is their fixtures as well - aside from Arsenal (which can always be mad anyway) and City, they have every other top 10 team at home in the first half of the season. That's a lot of tough aways to come later for them.
I reckon they could be top, or near the top, at Christmas, but struggling for top 4 by the end of the season. Probably not a bad idea to bet on them now, then cash out later when their odds come in.
  • They’ve played 3 top half teams. They beat a turbogash United at home, celebrated a historic draw against Arsenal and beat us (with only 9 men) via a last minute own goal in one of the most corrupt refereeing displays you’re ever likely to see. The commentator on the stream I was watching tonight kept talking about it being a “statement” win. A narrow victory against a shite Palace side missing their two best players, where they needed another own goal and created next to nothing all evening. What statement?
Let’s see how they get on when they have a couple more games against sides who can actually play football.
  • absolutely if ever there was a false league position it is this one, they certainly aren't dominating games.
They also have the added advantage of not being in Europe this year.
Part of me though would find it hilarious if they were to win something this season after Sir Harold fucked off to Bayern!
  • The only thing that annoys me about Spurs is that it was supposed to be us on top of the table
  • Deservedly so. Otherwise, who cares. They’ll melt away like snow under heavy stream of warm piss. As they always do. Angelic Positiveclue will shamelessly complain about referees, much lauded Maddison will do what he did to Leicester and give up, their fans will ramble about Kane never being replaced and everyone will just turn their attention elsewhere.
  • Spurs will start dropping points soon.
officially bored of the spurs love in.
  • Yeah. It's a constant reminder of that shitty game.
No one even bothers to mention how bloody corrupt that game was too. Does my head in.
If it was the other way around they’d never let us forget about it.
  • for me they're definitely finishing on 75-80+ points

We have a tough run in this season as everyone says. Maybe. We'll also be nearly a full season into Ange's reign and not still just learning the basics 10 games into it.

I'm still thinking top 4 myself but if we're still up and around there, there's no reason why we can't push all the way to the end.

Although playing all those sides during the CL quarters and semis, so arguably not bad...

That too of course.

I'm just excited to see how it all pans out tbh. Been years since I went into a season feeling like this. I'm just going to enjoy it.

He’s right. Absolutely everything is going our way at the moment. Let’s take a look at his examples….

Crazy decisions - like Ayew’s goal given? Maddison not getting a pen against Sheff Utd? Palace not getting any yellows until the 90th minute despite kicking the fuck out of our players? Etc etc.

Own goals? Like Romero’s? Or Vdv’s?

Late goals? So lucky we score late sometimes. Nothing to do with fitness levels, keeping ourselves in the games, quality football, never giving up etc…. We are so lucky!

No injuries? Aside from the league’s best LB this year missing this game. And our best midfielder missing all season? And our long term injuries like Solomon, Peresic and Sessegnon. And our back up players like Lo Celso and Gil out for almost all of the season so far? But that aside, yep, no injuries.

No midweek games? I mean, we’ve just played 2 midweek games in the last 6 days.…. 👀

And as for the last part re having lots of difficult away games at the end of the season, we’ll just have to make sure we’re 30 points clear by the time we play all of them. Easy.

The more I see the comments about our ‘easy’ fixtures and ’constant good luck’, coming especially from Arse and Pool fans, you really sense they’re absolutely shitting themselves about another team challenging for the top 4. They’re clinging to excuses. Anything to persuade themselves that we’re not a threat.

I don’t hold it against them. I found myself thinking the same way when the Foxes won the title. Saying how jammy they were. But that was me in denial. So, I get what they’re going through. I look forward to when they reach acceptance.

So we aren't going to be playing anyone good until game 32 are we? :ROFLMAO:
I think it's more a case of you wont win the title now no matter you position on the table, rather that April is when you win it.... look at Arsenal last season coasting along until they had pre-ejaculation nerves in April.
