The point is and was that Leicester still had to play Chelsea on the last day. I'm 100% convinced Chelsea would have downed tools for that game if winning it meant we could win the league. If they didn't need to play each other still then the comment is irrelevant.
Ridiculous.

Dear celebration police,

FYI, I shall be having my own personal open top bus parade after every spurs win, and for as long as we continue to be top of the league, and won't be giving a single flying fuck what you think.

Yours annoyingly

Every Spurs fan

We have 168 pages of discussion and examples of practically every other premier league club hating on us. Not a chance any one of them are rolling over for us.

I'll certainly not be relying on any favours.

We'll win it on our own terms.

Nope, one thing we can be sure of, if we ever accomplish anything, we'll have to do it the hard way.

Remember when impartiality was a thing.
No it never has been. There has always been fierce rivalry in football. Chelsea would always up their game against us, as do West Ham and Arsenal. We would be the same if we played one and had a chance to stop them achieving something. Leicester are just lucky they didn't really have much rivalry like we do as a London club. It's up to us to challenge these teams though. We dropped points to all 3 of those rivals in the total race. It's just the way it is.

Of course it has. Rivalry yes. But pundits and professional footballers never revealed their team preferences. Can’t remember who Dickie Davies or Frank Bough or David Coleman supported.

They said they wanted to stop us winning the title before we played them. Nothing unexpected about that given our rivalry. It would have been different if they said it before playing Leicester with title on the line. The match they had with Leicester was irrelevant by then because the title was decided already. So any speculation about what they would have done is pointless. However we see it all the time when teams play end of season with nothing to play for, often teams are a walkover. Like us beating a relegated Norwich to secure 4th. You might get the odd occasion like Newcastle playing the game of their season against us but its rare. This is all just part and parcel of those final games though. We didn't lose out on the title because of Chelsea as much as they like to claim it so. Its a 38 game season and they had their fate in their own hands for a long time.

I'm sure Eden Hazard came out on MNF or something and said he wanted them to win it and that was before we played them at the Bridge. Whether they had played Leicester by then I have no idea. But it's not a stretch to think at least Chelsea weren't professional end of that season. Even after the draw at Chelsea which gave Leicester the title, he said stopping us winning it felt like a victory.
Saying someone was motivated to play well against us is very different to the (ridiculous) claim that teams let Leicester beat them

I am not saying it was the sole reason we didn't win the league, just that from their quotes it seemed their only goal was to beat us and that was it as if they didn't care about any other game in that period. And to say so in such a manner seemed unprofessional at the time to me (especially Cesc on MNF).

To be honest I had largely blanked the end of that season out of my mind until it popped up today. We should have beaten Chelsea that day being 0-2 up, but we didn't. We also dropped points to West Brom at WHL (was there). We threw it away ourselves.

Anyways what are oppo fans saying? We're lucky? Good.

Same old shit really...we're lucky, we've not played anyone etc etc and then there is this from The North Bank over on RAWK. He's their resident Gooner...

Theyve had their best ever start and are only 2 points ahead with 3 teams bearing down on them. Theyll soon start feeling the strain and fall away.

Coincidently, we've had the best start of any team in the whole of premier league history. Better than any of their starts even when they were invincible. None of our opponents fans are 'worried' about us, yet can't stop going online to talk about us and tell us they're not worried. The irony - It's great isn't it :)

And then there's a good number of Scousers who just cannot let it go...
I'm still fed up that they benefited so much from the most egregious of fuckups

Player does what he's on the field to do and opposition fans are annoyed by it   Next they'll be crying that Vicario is actually bad for the game because he keeps preventing teams from scoring and in doing so, making it harder for teams to beat us, which can lead to hurt feelings.

there is not a chance a scouser said egregious... He's that almost as annoying breed the liverpool fan from the otherside of the country with no connection to the club or area who acts like he is a born and bred hubcap collector.

That isn't true unfortunately.

There have been 12 teams (if memory serves) in PL history that have started with as many points or more after 10 games.

Arsenal last year had 27 points after 10 games to our 26.

We have a tough run in this season as everyone says. Maybe. We'll also be nearly a full season into Ange's reign and not still just learning the basics 10 games into it.

I'm still thinking top 4 myself but if we're still up and around there, there's no reason why we can't push all the way to the end.
I like this thinking. There is still a nagging thought of how paper thin our defence is though. There was a huge drop off having Davies instead of udogie in the first half against palace. One of our CBs go down and games will look a lot tougher. Need a CB good enough to challenge Romero and VDV and another LB in Anges mould…

Yeah , it's the best 10 game start for any new manager in the league. Maybe what the mix up was.

Sorry. I have to disagree. Tony Pulis went on record to say he wanted Leicester to win it that year when his Stoke team had both them and us to play. Not saying he told his team to throw a match, but clearly motivation for each game could have been very different.

Leicester did bloody brilliant to win it but we were scheduled a number of Monday night games in a row, and a lot of other things seemed to conveniently go their way. To me it was never a level playing field and we were always up against it. The Chelsea stopped us winning it thing is also a myth that does not stand up to scrutiny, but why let the truth get in the way of a good story.

Again there is a huge difference between saying you want a team (an underdog in this case) to win and saying they let them win. It’s ridiculous, and worthy of tin hats not serious debate. I agree that sky helped them out with the scheduling but everything else is just conspiracy theory level nonsense. You talk about Stoke - they played Leicester in September and January. They lost 4-0 to us at home in April so their motivation helped them out loads didn’t it? It’s just utter shite
