Joe Lewis Trial

I have next to no sympathy for billionaires, and none at all for financial cheats. But assuming his story is true (never insider trading for his own benefit, just giving tips to employees) I'd give this octogenarian a pass. Sure, he should have just given lavish bonuses and tipped in $100 bills. But letting some employees he liked get a taste of his world for not very much money--more than I have, but nowhere near enough to move markets--is pretty human and decent compared with the bulls**t most late-stage capitalists get up to.
Quite surprising. I have little sympathy for him

Hahaha, fuck 'em. The fact they can go on about how long ago it was since we won a cup, then cry about Villa taking apart their back line in 81 - get in the sea!

Maybe instead of blaming Villa for being blessed they should point the finger at Ranson, McDonald, Reid & Caton for all being gash for thirty seconds and letting him score.

Im guessing the City fans shown on here are the ones that bought into the success rather than old school fans - Im not sure about you lot but for me the club would be dead if it was taken over by one of these cheat code oil barons or at least I’d care way less about it.

Their opinion on football matters so little that it’s almost a disservice to post their comments in this thread.

The Griffin Park Grapevine (Brentford F.C. Forum)

They have multiple threads for the fixture.
Prediction Thread
  • Will be a tough game and I have been really impressed with Spurs this season. Udogie, Maddison and van de Ven have been cracking signings for them and they have used the Kane money really well and look a far better team without Kane. Udogie best left back IMO in the PL and Maddison whatever anyone thinks of him (I actually quite like him) for £40m in today's market is a steal. Watched their match last night against City and really believe we can get something from the game. We will miss the pace of Wissa and Bryan who were really effective last year against them but I still predict a 2-2. Toney (pen) and Jensen our scorers.
  • Hmmmmm, Not too sure about this one as i think we still lack pace in the side. Plus we are letting in 2 goals a game atm. 2-1 loss. Hope im wrong and we can grab a point
  • 1706571084647.png
  • If we were at full strength I would fancy our chances especially as the forward positions taken by Udogie and Porro leave a lot of space behind which we would surely have exploited if Bryan had been fit. For us to get anything we need to concentrate defensively and show some signs that our recent defensive form has improved. Spurs are not the attacking force they were last season so I think a 1-1 draw in which we score from a corner early doors.
  • We have players back but we are so far from full strength. They have Maddison back too after a short run out midweek. Pain at the Lane I fear - 2.0
  • Unbeaten in 4 against Spurs, make that 5.... 2-2
  • Just can't see us getting anything unless our defence find last season's form. With Toney up front, we now have more threat. But we let goals in every game, including 2 against a poor Forest side. Hoping for a point, but think it will be 1-3.
  • 2-1
  • Time for a win then. 3-1 to us. Ivan pen, KLP and Maups to score.
  • 2-1 🐝’s with everything crossed, hopefully 🙏🏻
  • Either 3-0 them or 1-0 us (Toney obviously)…won’t be a draw 👀
  • This is nailed on BTTS bet - unfortunately I think they will have too much so I'll go 3-1 them
  • I wouldn't bother - another one who revels in us doing badly or having a negative opinion of a player - just a weird attitude IMHO
  • 3-1 Spurs. We are still missing key players and I think unfortunately they will have too much for us. Hope I’m wrong!
  • After watching Spurs vs Citeh on Friday, if Brentford can adopt the high press I can see us getting a win. I go 1-2 (Toney,Jensen)
  • I'll be very happy with a draw 1-1.
  • Any points please
  • Really excited about this…

  • A very uneventful 6-5 win. IT 5 (out of 5) pens after lengthy VAR reviews. (last one is a Panenka in front of their white wall in the 90 +14th min). Romero combusts.

Team Vs Spurs Thread
  • A real shame we don’t have Wissa, Schade or Mbeumo available to really do some damage against their high line. Nonetheless it feels like we need to go 3-5-2, defend like lions in a low block and draw them in and try to kill them on the counter. No Reguilon, presumably no Nørgaard still. Tricky one but can’t be writing it off. What would you go with? I can’t decide yet. Feels like we need to get KLP closer to Ivan, but with Janelt needed in the middle and SR ineligible we don’t have another option at LB / LWB. Also how to fit Ajer in without dropping any of Pinnock / Collins / Mee?
  • It's fun playing against Spurs these days anyway so i'm looking forward to the game either way. Hopefully we can ensure that the disgusting Richarlison doesn't score at least.
  • Norgaard to crunch this one please.

  • Watching the first half of Spurs v City I've done Frank's job for him. All we need to do is play two attacking wing backs to keep Udogie and Porro busy, but the same players will also need to mark Kuluvseski and Werner out of the game too. Maupay to wind up Romero to get him sent off and Jensen to chum up to the referee before Maddison does...hey presto Toney to score a late penalty and we win.

I've figured it out. To beat spurs, you need to be more like man city....

...Genius.

  • Maddison diving already

  • I want to be watching tonight when Richarlison suffers a career ending injury.

I want to be watching that. Yes - I do.

  • Do one Maddison. Fecking Spurs love in on TNT. Cannot see my TV lasting the match at this rate. Keep going Bees. We've got thi

  • Are we running a sweep on how many fouls spurs are allowed before the yellow card comes out, we got 1. (Lol)

  • Great game this.
    Lovely winding them up too.
Hate this lot more than QPR 🤣

  • Coote will send Norgaard off.
Bookmark this for the outrage that will follow.

  • Werner is a shining example of why you do your due diligence when signing players, and you dont just sign anyone

  • Fantastic work rate and some good chances. Hope Maddison's giant forehead explodes with frustration in the second half.

  • Frank has owned Ange's style of football that half.

    2nd Half

  • Brennan Johnson’s tragic
    An overrated runt
He turned down dear old Brentford
    We all know he’s a ****.

  • Holjberg is on, I am saying 5 tactical/dirty fouls before a yellow?

    Anyone raise me?

  • 1-1
  • that was quick
  • that was quick (again)
  • Oh dear
  • f*** me.
  • Get Norgaard off. That's a red waiting to happen.
  • Maddison is such a cheat.
  • Wow. This has turned to utter sh*t. Is this the same team as the first half
  • Two very very lucky deflections for first and 3rd.
  • spot on, that’s a shocking 7 minutes. Not come out for second half and makes us look like idiots for all the sh*thousing first half, properly backfired.

Norgaard is so close to a second yellow.
  • Take Norgaard off please.
  • I'm not writing us off yet, their defence is awful
  • Yes. F you Spurs. 👏🐝
  • Shut those nauseating Spurs supporting clowns up.
  • We're getting nothing that Tottenham are getting.
    No consistency.
  • You don't kick it out for cramp FFS. Hope we don't give it back to them.
  • Glen Hoddle is an insufferable, boring, awful ****.
  • Who's this little chav Donley? a new cheat in the making
  • Tottenham legend Glenn Hoddle names Tottenham player Richarlison man of the match before we go to post match analysis from former Tottenham player Peter Crouch.
    Lovely.
  • All the pundits rave about Udogie but he cost them 2 goals. He looks pretty shocking to me as a defender.

So which ex Brentford legend did they want to commentate? Martin the chimney sweeper?
