Yeah he was one of my favourites as a kid, I always thought he'd go on to be a legend. I guess we can call him a cult hero though.

The lob against Wimbledon in off the bar was a beauty.

He was the archetypal 'Spurs beat Barca and AC Milan to the signing of' player, nearly but not quite.

Saw us in a couple of pre-season games in the late 90s. Iversen was absolutely on fire. The guy was ruined by injury and had a couple of good years for us, particularly 99/00. I was really happy to see him return to Norway and win player of the year.
Absolutely a talented player, ruined by injuries. I met him once really nice guy.

City fans seem to think we will be out to kick seven shades out of Silva and Kompany on Sunday.

Because that's the we play. They clearly havent watched us this season.

Mind you, and early marker on Kompany wouldn't go amiss.

I'll be amazed if Kompany starts, and if he does no way he'll last more than 60 mins

And I agree, a hefty but fair challenge on him early doors would be nice

So what the fuck are City saying?

They don't know much about our history,
Don't know much about Deli Alli,
Don't know much about Garth Crooks,
Don't know much about Gary Mabbutt.

But they do know that we love Spurs
And even if it comes to the worst,
We know that Arsenal won't win the league!

Bad times.

Typical Spurs performance of the time though. Total shit most of the season and then every now and again, completely blow a team away playing like Barcelona.

We probably lost 3-0 the following week to Coventry or some other such dross.

Yeah was very much like that, so up and down. Makes me even more grateful to watch us in the position we're now in.

Man, growing up in the 90's, listening to us on the radio(midweek game) as a 7-10 year old being hammered by a Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink hat trick or some tosser like that, makes me realise that all that shit we served up week in week out and my old man being UTD and winning everything whilst i stayed staunch Spurs has been worth it, not being funny but if we do somehow manage to win the league the success will be all the more sweeter, and if we dont fuck it il be proud as we have come a fucking long way.

No matter what happens, this team is far from peaking and if I get similar joy in the coming seasons as I do from this I'll be a happy man.

Losing to Coventry would have been preferable

We really were a lukewarm shit sandwich through most of the nineties through to 2006. As someone who has supported the team since 1982, and had to listen to opposing fans tell me how average Tottenham is, and how we aren't big enough to keep our best players, and that we'll never be able to compete with the Big Four... This is an amazing time. No matter where the season goes from here, it is very clear that we have a young, hungry team that will only go from strength to strength. I cannot recall a time like this over all those years... and it's wonderful to read the barely concealed contempt for our newfound success from other fans. If there ever was a fanbase that deserved something special... it's us.

As for that video... um... WTF is up with Armstrong and Sol not celebrating their goals? What twats.

Armstrong stopped celebrating his goals after our fans had treated him as shit at a time when he put in poor performances due to playing through injuries at the request of our manager. Turned very sour between him and the fans.

I love how the city fans are reminiscing about how shit we were. We should invite them to our How Shit We Both Were thread and have a party
