Wow, surprisingly well thought out and articulated first post to that thread.

It's an excellent post, but that team he suggests doesn't address the issue he raised earlier about Gerrard not protecting the back 4 against our trio of Chadli, Eriksen and Lamela.

He also wins credibility points for being a Liverpool fan who doesn't believe Markovic is the automatically the worlds best player just because he cost them a lot of money.

Wow, surprisingly well thought out and articulated first post to that thread.

There are a couple of things though, like

Coutinho will be matched up against Bentaleb who he should be able to get the better of and release his dangerous through balls from deep.

and

Enrique to come in for as his strength against the waif-like Lamela could be useful.

which I think will cause him some surprises come matchday, the "waif-like Lamela" comment especially. If he can shrug off a couple of West Ham players he's not going to be getting done with sheer force by anyone any time soon.

Also after finally getting to watch the Rs game last night to the end I think this:

Lamela and Eriksen need to be nullified. Do that and I don't think Adebayor will be a problem.

is totally arse-about-face. Ade did a brilliant job at playing these two in and looks like what I'd optimistically call the "real" Adebayor (as in actually committed and interested), and when he looks like that he's one of the best around.

A snippet from Red Cafe after the Fazio signing.

Spurs have been playing the silent assassins role, slowly improving their squad without catching any major headlines. They look quite strong all over the park now with the exception of striker and winger.

I think our options on the wing are pretty good. I would like to see some consistency with the strikers (Ade scoring every other game and Bobby finding the net a lot more) but I any not unhappy with them. I was worried about the defence but it looks pretty good now with Dier hitting the ground running. I will have to see Fazio play before judging but he looks exciting. I am quite content with the transfer window so far.

Song is home grown as well I believe, it would make sense if we do go for him and one or two are on their way out.

I would Keegan it if we got Song. Why doesn't Arsenal want him back? He's far better than Flamini and just what they need (back). I suppose since he left they have acquired about half a dozen good creative players so he would play further back.

Spurs are about the 6th best team in the league so a well fought 3 points should be the minimum expectation here. A draw would be tolerable.

He says 3 points should be the minimum they should expect but would tolerate a draw...does he want more than 3 points but would accept 1????? I give up.

Presumably he means that he expects a narrow win, would like to see a comfortable win, but would accept a draw. It's poorly worded but it more or less makes sense.

From RAWK Match Thread
Johnson limped off in the closing stages of Monday’s game at the Etihad Stadium after clutching his thigh and is set to miss Sunday’s trip to Tottenham.

The Reds are also waiting on Martin Skrtel and Alberto Moreno, who picked up knocks against City.

Johnson’s absence would mean a recall for right-back Javier Manquillo at White Hart Lane after the young Spaniard didn’t feature on Monday.

Fellow full-back Jon Flanagan isn’t available as he has yet to return to full training following a knee injury. But Jose Enrique is now fit and could come into consideration for this weekend.

Adam Lallana has also trained after recovering from knee ligament damage and the £23million midfielder is in contention to be handed his debut.

Puzzles me as well. With Fabregas I can kind of understand that they passed to let Ramsey grow. Can't think of who they have in the same position though who needs the chance to develop though.

RAWK's resident Mr. Bombabatis (or whoever our spell guru was)
Shababs. Marhaba.

This week as been a sole searching exercise for the wife, her recent Tea leaf reading have been way of the mark, and frankly, I found myself questioning those experiments on her recent trip to Thailand with that Strong Black African, they exhausted her concentration, to see what was clearly written in the Tea Leaves.

I have convinced her to go back to last seasons blend, of Sri Lankan Orange Pique, and Indian Assam a much more consistent blend, bright and full of body. She accepted my concerns and conducted a reading.

The Tea leaves see a game where Spurs will for some time park the Bus and will want us to try and penetrate them, Brendan will have to navigate the Apostles through by being Bold. The game will be a long hard affair and we must not let them, slip in behind us, the planet Uranus is in their favour and we must resist, the temptation of letting them come from behind, by trying to stop them turning us over.

The game will be won, by the team, manager, player who seeks to show Flare. The Tea Leaves shined bright like a Diamond and this should be the formation to be used if we are to succeed.

Spurs 0 - 2 Liverpool Away win

That's how they rolled, Inshallah.

Thanks for the translation...i think i read it how I wanted to read and perhaps not how it was meant to to come across

I'll stand by the 'some of them ain't too bright' bit though :)
