Yeah they are missing some good players, but that said, their starting 11 (in my view) isn't massively depleted. They often rotate their players anyway. Ramsey is their biggest miss in my view as he is the one player who continuously delivers for them, but is of course, often injured. They probably would have liked to have Welbeck against us as well, though he wasn't overly influential against us last season. But they are !
If we stick to a good game plan and manage to keep them at bay for say 70 minutes, we will have a fair chance to win the game in the last 20 of playing time. Poch will also have a better bench than Arsene to turn to and that may well be the time to nick it.
Completely agree. The wonky eyed prick is one of the most overated players in world footy.
I found the Spurs vs Villa chat fascinating yesterday, and out of interest decided to compare the fortunes of the two clubs since their golden years ended almost 100 years ago.
The last of these trophies came in 1920. In the purposes of fairness I will exclude our FA Cup win in 1921, as it is essentially from the same era. In fact the next title for either was our league win 30 years later.
The biggest claim Villa have over us is their superior number of league titles. In fact if you take out the early days where none of the big boys were really knocking about, they are left with just a solitary title in 1981. Clearly we all know about our two in 51 and 61.
In this time they also have a single FA Cup triumph (1957) to our 6 (1961, 1962, 1967, 1981, 1982, 1991).
Clearly we can't match their European Cup win and subsequent Super Cup success in 1982. However we do have a Cup Winner's Cup (1963) and two UEFA Cups (1972, 1984).
They have 5 League Cups to our 4, and 1 Community Shield to our 6 over the same period.
Overall in terms of major trophies since 1921 we have Aston Villa 10, Tottenham Hotspur 21.
And of course it would be very immature of me to point out that I also saw a Third Division Title listed amongst their successes...
Because it is in all official records and statistics. How can you count the (Charity) Community Shield as a major trophy?

Nah mate, he should of been subbed. And we're very fit and that normally tells in the latter stages of games. You only have to look at Lamela's work rate in the last 10-15 minutes against Villa to appreciate it.

No actually. Winning a third division championship isn't an official major trophy. Winning the community shield is.Like winning the third division championship? As a supporter I would put a league title way ahead of a mickey mouse one off pre season game

You're genuinely arguing with facts.
Arguing with facts? So this is an objective analysis of the biggest club since 1921/1950?No actually. Winning a third division championship isn't an official major trophy. Winning the community shield is.

What's your issue? So you don't think the community shield counts, sweet. The statistics are broken down in my post I'm sure you can take away the totals.Arguing with facts? So this is an objective analysis of the biggest club since 1921/1950?
How many big club points are awarded for the different trophies?
O come on they scored because of Lamela, I know Mason gave the ball away but I'm sure Lamela gave up possession about 5 min earlier and that somehow lead to Mason losing the ball.Nah mate, he should of been subbed.

what are the gooners saying about us?
