Henderson is shit. How is he the best midfielder in the league FFS?

Because he plays for Liverpool of course. Every player who plays for Liverpool is one of the best in the world. I know a scouser and he has said it for years, for any player that puts on their shirt, no matter how shit he is. Listening to him is just like reading RAWK. Its great fun annoying him. :)

God I hate Liverpool fans.

Sakho is a top defender? The man is a clown. I can remember when they were saying that lucas was one of the to 3 holding mids in the world.

They are the most deluded fans I have ever come across.

They have about 3 decent players and the rest are very average. They we will "do a spurs", but given that we have finished above them for 5 of the last 6 years shouldn't we now call it a "Liverpool"?

Other than the Chelsea knuckle draggers I think I dislike them the most of any fans.

Of their players I'd take Coutinho, Henderson and possibly Clyne but that's about it. Sturridge is a great player but you only get him for 20 games a season, tops. Sahko over Verts or Toby is madness.
Coutinho, has quiet games and both Clyne and henderson are questionable.

Stirrings is an excellent player but as you say he is always injured. Would you swap him for Kane? I wouldn't.

As for sakho, my goodness. He is fazio with a bit of pace. He wouldn't get into our team at all.

That Scouse female sports writer (Alison Rudd?) claims Charlie Adam has "the sweetest left foot in football". There's no hope for them - they will always chat shit and be blinded by their own arrogance.
unbelievable. Same on TalkSport having to listen to the LFC supporters club aka Micky Quinn constantly going on about them. I struggle to think of any Spurs supporting professional pundits that constantly go on about us.

Err Sakho is a good defender though

Agreed, Liverpool fans are guilty of the same sin as all football fans; overrating their own players and under rating others'. Sakho, however, would push both Verts and Toby hard for their positions but, for me, our two edge it but quite right their fans would prefer Sakho. Same for Henderson, he's been excellent for them for 18 months after a difficult start. IMO he'd take Alli's place in our side but I'd still take Alli as he's going to surpass him very soon. However good Lamela has been this season, Coutinho would be an automatic starter in our side for either him or Erikson. Those two would be fighting it out to play alongside him. Sturridge is incredible when fit. I'd still prefer Kane as he is much better suited to us but Sturridge would push him hard (and a squad with both of them in would have the manager busting their balls to accommodate both). Moreno pushes Rose hard and Clyne has the edge on our right backs. I make us c.9/2 ahead of them but Liverpool fans could argue, with some justification, for us being only 6/5 ahead. There is not much between us to be honest with you but I think we have the more settled side, the better manager and. With the age of our squad. I wouldn't swap our position for theirs for all the tea in China.

He was their best player when we played them this season, by far.

He's very hit and miss - but more miss for me. He's got the odd very good game in him, but for the most part he's a liability - and then you get days like Watford away - which was a Mangala special.

He's certainly not what you would call a consistent and quality CB.

Henderson's passing would add another dimension to our midfield, so he'd make our team.

In terms of the back five, I don't think I would take any of Liverpool's over ours, purely based on the fact that they've shipped 50% more goals than us this season. Their fullbacks might just about edge ours, but I'm not totally convinced of that. CBs and GK are definitely not as good.

I've rated Coutinho since I first saw him playing Champions League for Inter, but I'm not convinced that he would currently fit our system, any more than Mata could in Mourinho's Chelsea. He'd be a very good player, providing goals and assists, but does he offer enough off the ball to be well-suited to a Pochettino side? Assuming he can adapt, that could take him anything from a few months to a whole season.

For me, Sturridge would always be playing second fiddle to Kane, either as a sub or playing off him. If we sign Berahino, then that's who I'd swap him in for. I've always thought of Sturridge as being kind of a left-footed Defoe. Sure, he'll score his fair share of goals, but what else does he do? Kane acts as a focal point for the team, good hold-up play, brings other players into the game, presses when we lose possession, chases back, provides an aerial threat etc...and scores as many goals as Sturridge (Kane's career goal ratio is marginally better). It's also worth bearing in mind that Sturridge's most prolific season was spent playing alongside Suarez (Kane just might benefit from that!). Not only do I think Kane is better suited to our team, but a better overall better player. That's before I factor in Sturridge's injury record, which is quite probably worse than Anderton's.

Firmino, who was billed to be Liverpool's new star player is older and more expensive than Lamela, Eriksen or Son, as well as being statistically worse. Yet another great signing from the club who didn't want to "do a Spurs".

A bit more from the Everton fans

Spurs are going through a season of improvement under pug headed Pochettino of the shrunken facial features. They’re tight in the defense, aggressive in the tackle, play nice passing togger and are not short of some flair up front - basically all the nice things on the planet that Everton fans wish of their own team.

In amongst the inconsistency and chaos of this season’s Premier League they’re very much worth keeping a close eye on to put together a push for the top or close by. To temper that it’s also worth remembering that they suffer the same penchant for throwing it all away as we do.

We have won a full more seven league titles than their paltry two and they best not forget it. They owe us homage. March them all - Terry and Dave and Dazza and Barry, every single last meffy last one of them - to the Dixie Dean statue from their trains, coaches and cars and make them get down on their knees and pay their dues. Or we’ll slay them right there and then. Bring Mark Falco out of his after dinner speeches for 60 people and throw a burger at his head and get Southall to just sit on him right there and then. What’s our name? We’re Everton you filthy mugs. Now get in the stadium and pipe down or we’ll too tuck right into your cheap cocaine tainted women.
Only messing, I actually much prefer them to the Arsenal fans who are weird bores. I’d also be happier if they won any title up for grabs this season than the other offerings about too.

They are solid at the back we are crap, Spurs win to start the year off just as it ended

Harry Kane has a face that should be starring in small civic centre pantomimes where he is grooming children and urging them to pick a pocket or two. That apart he’s a more than a useful striker and a throw back to ace centre forwards who are not overly proficient in physicality but just love scoring goals.

They have options behind him like the occasionally excellent Erikssen and the impressive Son but the player I’ve liked most for them this season has been Lamela who is realising his potential under his compatriot coach. Not that you care one jot who I like and who I don’t, but just throwing that out there so when he curls in the crushing fourth goal and winner I can act smug as though I know something about football.

Deep midfield will contain Dier for who we are absolutely plums for letting escape our clutches, he’s done well in adapting from full back to central defence and finally to midfield. Thankfully the excellent Dembele is out injured for this one, he’s been terrific this season.

Alderweireld and Vertonghen are very under rated central defence partnership with a bit of everything you need to succeed and they have full backs which stop crosses and even if they get through they have a goalkeeper who isn’t sentenced to 15 years hard time served on his line.

The most obvious Everton 5 Spurs 8 ever.

Can't see us getting much out of this so we'll probably win 1-0 (Lukaku) to prove me wrong and ensure our Jekyll and Hyde sequence of inconsistency continues

4-1 spurs

Our back line will get ragged all over the place

3-1 to Everton.... this is where we turn the corner & Martinez gives all the moaners metaphorical middle finger. Corner turned and we surge up the league to where this squad should get to.

Nice read chico, surprised to see quite a few so called experts have us to win[or draw],thought nearly all would have us to lose lol, dont seem to know what to predict with us,so i will just say Everton to win,why are we so different at home [conceeding wise etc] to away-is it the crowd, the way we set up, or what.

I sincerely hope we win so that the level headed posters don't have to endure the tedium of the crybabies but I have it at Spurs 1-0 Everton.

Oh god, we'll have to listen to the most cringeworthy song in all of football. 'He's one of our own'....

Oh god, we'll have to listen to it when his 25 yard pea shooter goes through Howards legs.

4-3 to the blues.... John cheidozie hatrick for the spuds...

It truly is the worst song in football. 'Look, we managed to produce a player!'

Shuddering just thinking about it

I don't mind the Tottering hotspots, rather them than the gooners harry potter army
I'm going 7-6 to either us or spuds

We'll smash these. They're involved in that energy-sapping, season-wrecking Europa league thing.....you know the sole reason we were rubbish last season according to some....

Oh, they're 4th.

Make mine a 1-1 then. Happy new year Blues.

I fully expect them to score 5 ... I'm going for 6-3 spurs

They’ve a very useful team and they’re more than capable of giving us a shoeing if we continue to piss goals and have the tactical awareness of a rabid horse that’s lashed it’s jockey off and has smelled the doughnut store.
