Valentine's day, everyone's trying to find a good excuse (& their balls) before booking a ticket.

In all seriousness this just sums up what I said before, if this was Lyon in the champs lge there wouldn't be a ticket spare.

I might go..

Here's a bit of Leeds chat, with a bit on Lennon loving to begin

(Lennon) Will receive a great cheer from me
happy65.gif
only at Leeds a short while but what a smashing little player

Saw Aaron play as a 14yo & realised his potential at such a tender age. Was MOTM in his last game for Leeds v Rotherham when we drew 0-0 at ER. Sold on far too cheaply for £1m but that's no surprise at Leeds United, apparently his value increased significantly to around the £20m mark within eigthteen months

If Spurs play Bale, Lennon & Defoe we'll be in for nothing short of a hammering as we can't deal with teams who have pace
icon_sad.gif

meh, play as we did in the first half against Chelsea and all will be well.
3 - 1 Leeds.

Aye but what about the 2nd half when Chelsea raised the bar ?
Thrashed by the Scum, Gooners, Chelsea & Spurs at ER in recent years doesn't bode well for Sunday especially as we now have a team with no pace & a team who can't cope with pace
icon_redface.gif

Thats the magic of the F.A. Cup you get all sorts of strange results as years gone by have proved and we used to be on the end of quite a few of them, but how many people went to Old Trafford a couple of seasons ago expecting to come away with a victory not many i suspect.

Should be an interesting game. If Spurs are really 'up for it,' what with their midfield, and their pace, they could tear us apart; I just hope we can keep the scoreline respectable.

We will mesmerize the Spuds with our hypnotically slow pace. Once they are throughly stupefied, Becchio to run in and score easy. No problemo. 7-0 to Leeds.

It looks like Spurs put out a strong team when they played Cov in the last round so I think we can assume they'll be fielding a decent side against us
shocked.png

For me, the league is still far more important (and I'm slightly concerned at the idea of Gareth Bale running at any of our defenders) but that aside, it could be a fun afternoon; at least Spurs should let us play a bit..... well, when we can get the ball off them anyway
grin.png

If I was Warnock I would pull young Sam Byram to one side and have a quiet word with him. I would tell him that the first time Bale comes anywhere near him he should run his studs down his calf and while Bale is doing the usual Premier League roll on the floor he should lean over him and whisper in his ear 'might be best you have quiet game today Gareth, I wouldn't want you missing any big games through injury...'
And then step on his hand as he tries to get up.
The plan is two fold, though, if Bale then continues to run at Byram and try to be a nuisance, I would then call over Micheal Brown who would be instructed to go over to Bale and simply whisper 'Bad mistake Gareth, now you've got the nasty b*****d'
And poke him in the eye....

Sounds like a Norman Hunter type plan, Dirty Leeds, don't you just love it
grin.png

Sounds like a plan - that's a winning mentality right there.

Perhaps my idea should be extended to just storming the Spurs dressing room 5 minutes prior to kick off and just randomly punching and kicking out....

Failing that we give them the normal away dressing room and just put a hose of icy water on them
thumbsup.png

It's been known for clubs to claim that the away dressing room has had a sudden failure of hot water and/or electricity before now.... a bit like floodlight "failures" in the 1980s were more often to do with messages being sent to the groundsman than actual electrical faults
grin.png

I don't like our chances against Champions League contenders even if it's their 2nd string team.
Though I've got us at 2-1 win, I like to dream...

Yeah, men whose wives are Tottenham supporters are very lucky. ;-)
Aren't they just! Only game I managed to get mine to come to was the friendly against Roma & she only went then to see Totti. Was not impressed when we took our seats & I told her he was out injured.

I've just spent some entertaining time on a Chelski forum. They're having a go at everything tonight.

The team:
can't bear this "thread it through the eye of a needle" type football we are playing. It either needs to completely brilliant or incredibly lucky for the ball to get through a packed defence and we are being neither. It's like watching Arsenal at their worst.
Our defenders don't know how to pass the ball. Oh how we miss JT
The manager - who they refer to as Tubby (I thought they meant Lampard at first):
Swapping two centre backs with 20 minutes left and you need two goals. There's the tactical genius we hired Rafa for!
four-back + two DM's against a side that's been parking the bus with 2 goals cushion
The Chairman:
Well Roman, its results like this that you sowed for yourself. Congratulations. Maybe try and hire some football guys among your yes men now?
The ref:
Foy has been immense for Swansea
How many times does Chris Foy screw us over? How many ****ing times!!!!!!!
There is, surprisingly, a cross-section of opinion on the Hazard incident:
I don't blame Hazard at all. That scummy little ball boy was deliberately lying on the ball and making no effort whatsoever to get it back onto the pitch. He was shamelessly time-wasting and effectively cheating. Hazard wanted to get on with the game and tried to get the ball back. If anything, Swansea should be punished for hiring an odious individual like the ball boy.
The most ridiculous ****ing decision I've ever seen.
To be honest that was disgusting by hazard... Should be a 10 game ban plus fines on top of the 3 for the red card. You just don't kick a child like that. Very poor on his part.
.....red card..........assaulting a ball-boy........how low can we go. ?
We even have a lament for the season:
This season despite us finishing up in the table is probably our absolute worst in history... First the Terry Adair, Clattenburg affair, RDM affair, all the trophies missed, and now this hazard thing will surely blow up to massive proportions ending with the media saying the boys mother had an affair with hazard or some bs like that....
And were only in January.

And finally, my favourite pair of comments:
Only positive I we go out tonight is that the risk of having Tubby in the dugout next season decreases. Gotta try and see the positives!
The only positive about losing tonight is that we won't then get stuffed by Bradford in the final.

Gotta be careful after all the mind the gap nonesense last year, but they're not happy-bunnies over on Arsenal-Mania, some of them seem to have lost the will to care!! :)

Running out of time to see the chances of us getting:
A) Into a run of form
B) Into a position to make 4th without having to rely on other team's results
This squad is missing a number of quality players and we aren't organised enough to eek out results, wonder what the situation will be with us out of europe next year?

infineon (Forum Member) on Yesterday, 9:23 pm
Although we had a torrid start to the season and a bad January last year we still put together a nice run of wins before Christmas and between February to April. We've put together no consistent run of results this year and don't look likely to any time soon.
DanielVale (Forum Member) on Yesterday, 9:24 pm
Let's be honest...I think its time we just finished in 5th, and start doing a Liverpool. I couldn't give a **** if we ended up on Channel 5.
We're a mid-table club now - I think that shows how far behind we are the top 2 sides.

Mudi (Forum Member) on Yesterday, 9:39 pm
We are 7 points of fourth place with 1 game in hand. We could be 4 points behind before we have to play Liverpool. If we win our next 3 games (West Ham, Lpool and Stoke), we will fight with the scums for the fourth place. Otherwise, we are just f*cked and we will probably finish outside the top 4 (and I really don't want us to be in the Europa league either, so finishing 7th or 8th would be better than finishing 5th or 6th).
By the way, now we have to fight for the FA cup! If we would win the FA cup this season, our season can still be saved!

Cruisio (Forum Member) on Yesterday, 9:41 pm
The fact that we are so desperately making 4th spot look more and more of an achievement is ridiculous really. I'd take a managerial change now but in the summer it definitely needs to happen

Tranquil (Forum Member) on Yesterday, 9:42 pm
Yes but Spurs and Pool are hitting some form. We have never looked so bad. So if we dont turn it around very quickly, our oh so special CL spot will be taken from us. I think it is 90% likely we wont be in the CL next season. We dont look worthy of it.

La Sagna (Forum Member) on Yesterday, 9:45 pm
Since Platini suggested that the CL will be doubled to 64 teams we haven't looked assed for 90 minutes in any match.

hitting some form?
Weren't we in form till we lost against City?
We just had 13 out of 15 while Spuds did the same (13/15) and Lpool recorded a 9 out of 15 in the same period.
We were just unlucky against City and the referee screwed us against Chelsea game.
Still, we can be 4 points behind Spurs while we were more than 10 points last year.
I'm not saying that this should be our goal, but I think that if we do want to make changes next year, having CL would make it easier to attract quality players.
So put the FA cup as the highest priority and get the fourth place and our season would be good!

DanielVale (Forum Member) on Yesterday, 10:04 pm
What about the results against Norwich, Swansea, Fulham...list goes on...we're just not good enough.

evoh_1 (Forum Member) on Yesterday, 10:07 pm
we haven't had a spot of form all season and yes begging and hoping for 4th is a ******* joke for the club and shows our intentions long term.

DanielVale (Forum Member) on Yesterday, 10:14 pm
We haven't looked so bad since Villa almost took 4th spot from us.
I just think, you know what, let Spurs have 4th. They won't win the ******* CL, never will.
We've done nothing but made up the numbers. If it were me...I'd happily finish 5th and win the FA Cup than hit 4th for a chance of playing in the CL next season. It's bullshit. Lets just hit the Europa League, do well, rebuild and come back stronger.
Not my decision - but not making the CL spots will certainly be a step forward in my opinion for the board to take notice that this club, is just not good enough.

did liverpool a world of good
Dropping out of CL causes simply too much damage including the transfer attractions, squad players wanting to leave, the revenue for CL (sorry for being so obvious but I don't know about you) to miss out at this point
At least liverpool had investment of 100m+. I dont think Kroenke, lying on his comfortable 300m ranch would sanction that when he doesn't even care.

psycho (Forum Member) on Yesterday, 10:39 pm
lol couldn't give a toss about CL, we can't win it anyways.
I hold it down on these boards, but deep down I don't even want Arsenal to get 4th place. Just condones everything that is not good enough. Would rather we just try and win the FA cup cause CL we are just in there for the sake of it and financial gain.
I am actually surprised if Arsenal win without a sending off or penalty or something.
The team is def better than half the league which means you technically can't call the team ****, but deep down...nah I think the team is ****.

Ha, I've never seen them so spiritually crushed. Wenger's dream/promise of a wunder team consisting of wunderkids has turned out to be nothing but a giant poo sandwich.

Shame.

Although I've gotta say there have been occasions in the last couple of weeks over in the TR section that were a person to read it who knew nothing about football, he'd be forgiven for assuming we were on the verge of relegation! Which just goes to show that every club has it's fair share of drama queens :)
