We are controlling most games with our brand of football. I feel this squad is capable of greatness once we gather more experience and add the right attacking players... Funny ratings to follow.

Once that pace is added and we learn when to inject that pace with our possession and pressing games we're gonna win more than we lose.

I feel people are being overly critical so far.

Spurs fans overly critical, surely not!

Haven't checked, but I'm guessing Everton fans aren't going to be pleased it took extra time to beat Barnsley...

From Saintsweb

I don't have a problem with Wanyama leaving per se, I would just hate to see him go to Spurs. Once again they do their business in the most underhanded unprofessional way and it seems to be perfectly acceptable. Hope we put our foot down and blankly refuse to do business with them, but worried we will just roll over because we can't justify keeping an unhappy player and passing up the cash. God THFC make me sick.

That's what we like to see

No but you need to go undercover to find out what we've done/did.

Ah, well it's hard to do that, the general pattern seems to be, pick a news story, then make something up to go with it to suit whatever your agenda was/is. Here's another from their ends:

Spurs not having a good time

. Moved on from Berahino due to bid being rejected. Either not for sale or not enough. Instalment plan was described as derisory. Now trying for Bayern Munich Korean forward Son, bidding £18m according to Sky. Hardly a big club with loads of money.

Have a sneaking suspicion spurs will end outside the top10 this season, especially if Kate doesn't get back to his form of last season. Outside of Kane and Eriksen their players just don't inspire much confidence and look up to it. All those inexperienced youth/young players are gonna have a lot of poor games among themselves and it's definitely gonna bite them in the Ass. Pochetino to be out of a joke by the end of the season me thinks.

What have we done that's underhand?

I believe it started when we stole Ghodd from them, I believe :) It's like, a player who grew up supporting the club, came through the youth system, and played for the club for most of his career - and they can't understand why, no matter how well he was doing elsewhere, he would want to take over his club*. It's right up their with the United fans maintaining a grudge against Alan Shearer for choosing to join his home town club over them at a time when they were actually challenging United at the top of the table. I mean, what a slight...and so completely incomprehensible! It's quite pitiable in laughable sort of way :)

But anyway, there it is, the Saints fans have worked up a deep resentment against us so that we stand for everything loathsome and reprehensible imaginable - we are their nemesis, apparently :)

Someone put up a post by a Saints fan a while back. The Saint had it into his head that THFC are no bigger than his club. His argument was that any difference between the clubs was down solely to history and had no validity in the here-and-now. Aside from being completely against logic anyway (I mean, there's a graph comparing our and their respective finishing league positions for, like, the whole of eternity - and they don't come out of it in a position of parity), it also seems to have evaded their beady eagle eyes that we have finished above Liverpool for 5 of the last 6 season, and Liverpool have finished 7th or lower in 3 of the last 6 seasons. But they've sold six players (or is it 7, I'm starting to lose count LoL) to the Mickeys in the last 2 seasons. Surely, in these circumstances, it is even more just history that the Scousers have over them!?! But they don't seem too bothered by that.

It's a shame because I always quite liked them back in the day (certainly didn't feel any antipathy to them), and really admired their work in youth development.

*Boyhood fan, through the academy, large part of career at club, becomes manager - Soil CumPull need not apply :-O

Fuck me, that's optimistic compared to some of the things posted on here the past few days.

I think some would be better off going to psychotherapy and meditating on their problems than posting on SpursCommunity (me included to be fair) - then again, some of us love a good moan.

There were people that thought we were in genuine danger of relegation during that dodgy spell last season

Haha its all coming back to me now. It's amazing what a few bad results at the beginning of a season can do to some teams fans.

Jesus. You lot are arrogant ****s.

No wonder so many clubs hate us. We do go about our business in a horrible manner.

Calling other fanbases disgusting and yet here some people just relish in stepping on smaller clubs, heck any club.

West Brom, Sunderland, Swansea, Southampton...pretty sure we used to be a club neutrals supported but after the football went turgid and the chairman and some fans conduct themselves like trolls we could definitely be one of the most hated.

And before you spam me and laugh it off. We have achieved fuck all. Same amount of trophies as Wigan and Birmingham in the last ten years. No ambition but stealing pennies from smaller clubs and recycling players like milk cartons.

How do we go about our business in a horrible way?

We Make bids and structure payments we can afford. The only questions we need answering is why do we leave our activities so late.

Other fans may have admired the way we challenged the Sky top 4 under Arry with our pacy football, at times watching those games, it was like a real car crash, open football full of goals with no real tactical input.

We've change our style and other teams don't have the patience to appreciate our tactical play and tbh some of our own fans are in the same boat.

It's OK for Chelski and Manc to openly speak about other players they want to sign because they have money.

Firstly we leave our business as late as 90% of other clubs. This is because we need to sell to buy (due to funds going to the new stadium) we are limited to a 25 man squad and the fact other teams don't want to sell untill they have replacements arranged.

Secondly possession football isn't tactical genius. A fluid 442 formation with wingers knowing when to swap wings is just as tactical and much more exciting than watching the team pass sideways and backwards for an hour and a half.

We're not the only club to do business in this manner. secondly its not illegal for us to do our business late as thats the conditions of the transfer window....if you look at this window and past other windows we've actually done deals early so tell me how is that horrible? If we do our business after selling off players that need to go this is good business for the long term health of the club.

Other clubs not wanting to sell is a load of rubbish the will all sell if the price is right. For an immediate example WBA are saying they will not sell fine...lets see if they stick to their words because if they don't it'll be there own fault not the buying club.

For the record I don't agree with the transfer window being open when the season starts but then if it's closed we lose out to other European clubs....I think there should be more alignment with other European leagues.
