The headline on Sky summed up the hype around Liverpool:

"Newcastle halt Liverpool surge".

A "surge" which has seen them go a whole 2 league games since losing at home to Crystal Palace, and won just 3 of their last 7.

Surge!

The BBC wasn't much better - 'Newcastle beat in-form Liverpool'.

Bear in mind that they are below us in the form table....and Watford.

Anyway, as has been said it's a good thing that the press pile the pressure on them. I think a lot of it simply comes down to marketing - a successful (or potentially successful) Liverpool means that more of their large global fan base watch the coverage and visit their website.

The more the press & pundits big-up Liverpool & the more they ignore us the better I like it

Theres a new team they big up each week. Man City, then Arsenal, then us, then Liverpool. Who is next? Arsenal again? Till they lose the next game...repeat

Did you put this in this thread because you think Sky are fans of Liverpool?

Leicester City do not get enough credit despite their form.

I think it must be the historical crystal ball factor again
Personally injuries aside I see no evidence of them dropping there current form
They deserve massive credit for the way they are playing it's like a turbo charged bulldozer mostly.

I completely agree. There are so many condescending headlines, stories and comments.

I guess the only thing that would indicate they might drop off is that their results have have been anomalies when you take into account teh fact that they have something like the worse pass completion in the league and they have something like less total possession than any other team in the top half (I'm not sure if they're exactly right, but I do remember reading something like those figures earlier). I guess some figure that they might drop back to results that you would expect if they keep giving the ball away and fail to hold onto it. But they just keep scoring goals so good on them.

Agreed. Performances and results are two different things. For example, despite being in 14th, Chelsea are still arguably the 3rd best team in the league (behind Man City and Arsenal).

I would say so far, considering our performances, we have actually underachieved this season. Bar the opening match of the season (and even here we could argue we deserved a point), we have yet to be outplayed. We actually deserve more points than we have!
