In fairness some of our own fans act like this. As if CL means we can now sign anyone and everyone under the sun and it's Levy's fault if we don't.
I don't think anyone of us have ever mentioned signing Neymar. That's delusional on a whole new level.

Liverpool fans

One thing i've noticed ( and not just Liverpool fans, but City/United/Arsenal/Saints etc) is they keep saying we *could* have a good season next year as long as we don't sell any of Alli, Eriksen, Kane etc, or Poch decides to stay... and im baffled that opposition fans think we'd entertain bids for any of our best players or that Poch would want to leave... This is the first time in a long time (as long as we do end up with CL) i'm 100% confident we won't sell anyone, yet even making the CL, i'm reading opposition fans saying one of kane/lloris/alli/poch etc etc will push for a move to city/chelsea/united & leave :bored:

A few years ago on various fan sites it was "Spurs are just an average team with one good player", then it was "Spurs are bang average with two or three good players". Now it's "Spurs are an average team apart from Kane, Alli, Eriksen, Lloris, Alderweireld, Dembele, Vertonghen, Lamela, Dier".

One thing you never hear from Liverpool fans is the admission that not only have we been better than them in the league, but that we've been better than them while making a profit on transfers while they continue to flush hundreds of millions down the toilet. That money has come straight out of their fans pockets too so you would expect them to be a bit more angry and clued up.

In true scouse way their club can do no wrong. Even if their fans did figure out what's been going on though, the board would just cart out King Kenny to pacify them again.

Smalling is a very underrated player outside of United's fanbase. Not sure why he's seen as a bit of a laughing stock, he's a very good all round defender.

I agree he's good and underrated but Stones is better imo. So i don't even think he's England's best defender, let alone player.

Stones can't even get in a poor Everton side atm because he has been making basic errors.
Think he will become a top player in a few years but he is far from that now imo

I don't understand why Everton haven't tried him as a defensive mid ala Dier. He seems to have the ability on the ball, he'll be afforded a little more room for error further up the pitch.

You still need discipline to play that role. Stones seems to be away with th the fairies at times! his decision making leaves a lot to be desired, but he's only young. The problem with "ball playing defenders" can be when they think it's the only way to play. I remember Nesta, who for me was the perfect example of a ball playing defender. First and foremost he was a defender, he would lump it if necessary. Stones needs to learn that

They are currently a bang average side, full of average players performing above themselves, full of confidence with a style of football that's been given time to settle.

That is genius. What does that make Liverpool? A world class team, full of world class players performing below themselves, with no confidence with a style of football thats had no time to settle.

They have some very good players that are inconsistent and some players that are just plain shit like their fucking keeper for instance.

This may sound a little silly looking at the table, but I think we are a better team than them on any given day, but they have been incredibly consistent and that's the big difference for me.

Yes that sounds very fucking silly. Thats why there is a league to show who is the better overall not just a better team on a random day....

They had a few outstanding games when Klopp took over and they seem to still be dining out on them. They smashed City twice so they think they are amazing but come on, everyone has smashed City this year.

The thing about Liverpool fans which has grated with me ever since our Champions League season is that they cannot give anyone any credit. Any success any other team achieves is either due to luck or is achieved by default because Liverpool haven't been as good as their fans expect them to be.

Even after having only one season in the last 7 (including this one) where they've even finished in the top 5 the penny still hasn't dropped for most of them that Liverpool are not the centre of the footballing universe and even if they ever do get it right on and off the pitch they will be confronted with a very different landscape to the one they dominated 30 years ago.

Personally I hope they continue to get it wrong until the reality sinks in and they realise they just aren't special anymore.

anti-semitic ***** the lot of them

I guess the irony of the fact that the man in charge of their pathetic club (David Gold) is a Jew is lost on them, that would require a single brain cell which is more than the cumulative cell count of their entire support
Unless it was deliberate, perhaps the irony is lost on you of othering an entire fan base as morally and intellectually inferior based on the outburst of an individual. I'm sure you didn't mean it that way but perhaps best to choose words carefully when commenting on such matters, even on a footy forum. I apologise if the joke went over my head.

"They will do what they do every season and get 60-65 points next season"

I was particularly taken by this quote from the Scouser in Yidnick's post, so I did a little research and came up with the following quiz...

In the last six seasons, which team has actually notched between 60 and 65 points most often. Is it

(a) Tottenham or
(b) Liverpool

In the last six seasons, which team has failed to even reach 60 points on two occasions. Is it

(a) Tottenham or
(b) Liverpool

In the last six seasons, which team averages 63 points (i.e. between 60 and 65). Is it

(a) Tottenham or
(b) Liverpool

If you answered mostly (b), you understand football, appreciate how poorly Liverpool have done in recent years and know what you're talking about. It is Liverpool who have notched between 60 and 65 points three times, fallen short twice and have an average of 63.33 points in the last six seasons. This average will certainly fall this season.

If you answered mostly (a), you're a deluded Scouser who doesn't read the tables, but makes up shit, whilst wallowing in an ever more distant history. Spurs have actually notched between 60 and 65 points twice, exceeded it four times and have an average of 67.67 points in the last six seasons. This average will almost certainly rise this season.

Fact. As one of their recent managers used to say...

Post edited to make more sense. Props to Starting Price for spotting the error...

Probably because Barry has done a great job for them and Stones is a very good player but not the finished article. I think Poch is more the type of coach he needs, an international defender who is now a top coach, to develop under but anyway he us still very young for a defender

Maybe he was being ironic but West Ham fans have a long history of anti semetic chants etc. Of corse not all there fanbase are like that (half my family included!) but they don't exactly help shake of their bad image.

Think he needs to move or Martinez needs to leave for him to develop further as expected. Not gonna happen under a manager who can't organise a defence for shit...

Exactly. It's hardly every single Spam fan - not least the Jewish ones - but they have the reputation for a reason. Some fruity language (and terrible diction).

If the outburst of the individual was entirely unrepresentative of the group then you'd have a point but anyone who knows about the history of West Ham fans will know that unfortunately that outburst was entirely representative of their fan base. If you are unaware and want to become more informed then just go to YouTube and sadly you'll see numerous clips of the anti-Semitism of their fans, most recently at this seasons game at WHL.
