Think we will have to either get level on points and/or beat City/Liverpool before we are considered contenders by a majority of the pundits.

We could go into the last game and not lose by 10 goals against Bournemouth to win the title and we will still not be favourites... But lets get to that point first

Are pundits fucking stupid? Why am i constantly hearing that Liverscum have extended their lead?

DO YOU ****S NOT REALISE THEY DIDNT EXTEND IT BECAUSE WE ARE IN SECOND AND NOT MAN SHITTY and in fact the gap is closer given we got a goal back wooohooo

Calm down there, Skippy. They lead by 4 before this round, now they lead by 6. Thus, extending their lead by 2 points.

There lead was 4 points before today. Now their lead is 6 points. Therefore, they have increased their lead over the rest of the field. The fact they did not increase their lead over us is not the point in the overall discussion.

I like this thread, so I'm going say this; in light of us smashing that crap out of Everton, on their own patch, and Bournemouth in the last two games, scoring 11 goals in the process, has there been much comment about us? Or are the headlines dominated by Man Ure's resurgence against bottom of the table cannon fodder? I only ask because I don't read the papers or watch the news.

Sherwood and Bellamy were really praising us on The Debate last night, spoke a lot of sense with no agenda. We are no longer a team who might have a Bale to bail us out we have top class players all over the pitch, we are the real deal now.

MODEL CLUB Simon Jordan gives five reasons why Tottenham are ‘the best club in the Premier League’
Former Crystal Palace chairman hails the north London club for the way they have built on and off the pitch

Tottenham Hotspur are the best-run club in the Premier League.

That’s according to former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan, who on talkSPORT gave his five reasons why Spurs have become the blueprint to follow for football clubs in England.

The ex-Selhurst Park chief says he does not like the “sovereign wealth behind Manchester City” and admires the way Tottenham have steadily built their club both on and off the pitch.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men are currently second in the Premier League and boast one of the best training facilities in the world and will soon boast of one of the top stadiums too.

Speaking on Thursday’s Jim White show, Jordan said: “I have no dog in the fight as I was involved with another London club and I had lots of run-ins with Spurs and Daniel Levy, but in my view Spurs are probably the best football club in the Premier League for a variety of reasons.

“Number one, it is because of Spurs’s organic development of players and their youth development.

“Two, because of their propensity to go down the pyramid and scout properly. No other club in the Premier League would have bought Dele Alli [from MK Dons].

“Three, because they put top players like Harry Kane out on loan for passages of time in their career so they develop the right attitude.

“Four, because of their control over finances.

“And five, because they are building the best stadium in the world.”

Tottenham have been tipped to challenge Liverpool and Manchester City for the title this season, with Harry Redknapp telling talkSPORT it’s a ‘three-horse race’ for the crown.

But Jordan believes that may be a stretch and has cast doubt over manager Pochettino.

“My only concern for Tottenham is Pochettino and his ability to be a big-game winner,” he added.

“I think Tottenham have had two key opportunities in the last three or four years. No discredit to Leicester, Tottenham should have won the title that year and they also should have won the cup semi-final against Manchester United.

“It may show Pochettino’s inability to get across the line.”

Am I the only one who enjoys Sunday Supplement? Also think Ashton is quite funny in a cheeky piss taking kind of way. Yes they don’t see things from our perspectives as Spurs fans but some of the Journos on there do speak a bit of sense.

Some are utterly clueless. Really depends who is on.

A lot of the time people get pissed off with the headline more than whats actually written and the journos writing the report have nothing to do with that eye grabbing sensationalist ball bag of a headline.
But yeah some talk bit of sense and some talk shit like most people.

That and we were never ever in front of Leicester. It was never in our hands.

And yet, he failed to beat a very beatable United side when we were flying last season.

He has a point - winning big games is one thing - winning big games that take you that final step is another. We haven't done that yet. I'm confident we will if we can keep things together.

And I used to hate Simon Jordan as well but he's alright when he's on TS

I think it’s actually a fair criticism of Poch that he has failed at the last hurdle in big knock out games. I’m confident he can get it right but the semi final defeats in the FA Cup to United last season and Chelsea the year before were big negatives.

It’s the last step he needs to make as manager to win trophies.

The mistake he makes about the Leicester year is thinking it was the same team as we have now, personel wise we are pretty much the same team but the team this year would have won the league instead of Leicester but three years ago we were still pretty much a bunch of kids. he obviously does have a lot of respect for the club and the way we are doing things though.
