So, what do the pundits think about our grammer ??
I left school at 15 with a D in English. You don't have to stop learning just because you're not at school anymore.
I'm 38 now. I imagine if I read something from my 15 year old self, I would hate it, sit myself down, and then explain the benefit of good spelling and grammar to myself.
Your still wankers oh I forgot to add smug and arrogant obviously a cut above muppets like me.
You say people like me should learn to "take it as face value make a note and spell it differently next time"
How about next time someone makes a grammar error that the likes of you grammar police "take as someone not as clever as you and let it go" instead of going to the bother of pointing out others inadequate grammar.
But no this would take away your moments of glory and feeling superior.
Like I said smug with no tolerance of those with less knowledge than you ; but I guess that just in your eyes gives you some kind of kudos and if you want to be a teacher become one and don't lurk on football sites where most of us are simple folk .

Hey fella that's really cool to misspell that on purpose just to make him feel better
Time to let it go and move on. If you happen to be in Prague I am more than happy to meet up and give you a hug.
Though I do have a habit of correcting people’s spoken English.
I took the trouble to speak to you in a frank, supportive and non-condescending way. Your reply betrays the fact that you have a major chip on your shoulder about this whole issue. You aren't going to be rational about it, you're just going to do anything that it takes for you to feel aggrieved and bitter about your literacy.Your still wankers oh I forgot to add smug and arrogant obviously a cut above muppets like me.

Chose this username on a whim years ago. Never knew it would have such devastating repercussions.I don't think he'll call you!

Or maybe we could not wind up people when they are clearly upset by something.I do love it when toys are being thrown from prams. There should be some kind of notification to point us to threads where it is currently happening.
The kickings I've had in life would suggest I am yet to learn that lesson.Or maybe we could not wind up people when they are clearly upset by something.
You clearly have no self awareness mateI took the trouble to speak to you in a frank, supportive and non-condescending way. Your reply betrays the fact that you have a major chip on your shoulder about this whole issue. You aren't going to be rational about it, you're just going to do anything that it takes for you to feel aggrieved and bitter about your literacy.
I think your reply is contemptible. I think you're pretty fucked up about this. Now change the bloody record. You are embarrassing yourself.
Alternatively, you could just take it at face value, make a mental note and spell it differently next time. I always try to make it a bit humorous or fun when pointing out an errant bit of grammar and I usually only mention it when it confuses the meaning of the post (or, TBH, when it's one of my bugbears, such as "should of" and "would of" and "top draw").
I also try to avoid aiming any such posts at people who write "incorrectly", but still make their point clear, because that's what really important: communicating clearly. Grammar and spelling help, but there are plenty of people who can get their point across without a university education and plenty of other people who use their education to blow smoke and try to conceal that they are talking absolute bullshit.
Sometimes it isn't mockery and it isn't the class war. It's just information about writing with clarity.
