"There was absolutely no hint last season - before or after the lockdown - that we would play the way we have so far this season"

Your post which contains the above quote is an objective statement of fact rather than your subjective opinion.

But no, that's not a fact it's your opinion and it's not shared by everyone. Clearly there were hints of improvement even if you couldn't discern them.

That's who the fuck your post implied you were talking for.
I'm sorry. I clearly should have realised that, in order for you to understand that a point of view that I expressed in my post was my opinion and not a statement of fact, it should have been clearly categorised as such. I now know that in order for you to understand this I should have written "In my opinion there was absolutely no hint last season - before or after the lockdown - that we would play the way we have so far this season". Hope that is better for you.

Just to clarify, my opinion is that we were, generally speaking, utter shite up until the Newcastle game this season. It is my opinion that this match was the first time we had any discernable plan of how to attack. I naturally believe this opinion to be correct; otherwise I wouldn't say it, would it?

I can see that you're trying to be sarcastic but the extracts in bold are the parts I'm interested in, thanks.

Regarding your opinion; so you didn't think we had some good periods of performance last season against Leicester, Arsenal and Newcastle? Even Crystal Palace on the final day we seemed to me to be very much in control and took our foot off the gas to close out the draw.

Out of all our games since restart, I only see Everton and Sheffield Utd as really poor performances. I don't think Bournemouth was a poor performance - just a toothless one. We were in control for most of that game with about 68% possession.

I’ve been here far too many times to build up any hope of the title. It’s the hope that makes it hurt when it doesn’t happen. I’m willing to take Jose’s philosophy this year and just hope we win the next game. It’s impossible to look beyond that as we don’t know what injuries, red cards, lockdowns will bring. I’m just looking to enjoy watching the next match.

I ran past the guy who hosts the Sky MNF programme earlier this morning. Didn't really think there was much point to stop and speak to him. All I can report is that he was walking a really nice beagle!

Jose Mourinho, arguably one of the most successful managers of all time, didn't have a discernable plan of attack?

I think our players failed to implement his ideas, but to suggest we had no plan of attack or a plan that you could comprehend/discern/observe is laughable.

And we did have sparks and glimpses of it during the last few games last season, but we blew hot and cold and the mind tends to remember the negative far easier than the positive.

David Jones, right? He's one of the very few likeable football presenters, in my opinion.

Yeah that was him. I thought his name was Dave but wasn't sure. It was bugging me all the rest of my run. If I'd of remembered I probably would have praised him on exactly as you say. He's very neutral, which for sky is an anomaly!

Did a podcast with Tim Vickery yesterday for a mate of mine who is a Brighton fan as a preview for our game last week. Was an honour to speak to the guy, very warm and engaging. Had great things to say about lo Celso from his time in South America and thinks he has great potential also talked about the turn around that Mourinho is making but that we both missed and loved the time with Poch.

Is Tim Vickery a Spurs fan?

Some reasonable comments here, but some buffoonery. 'Tottenham won't win the league because they haven't before'. Well must be only talking about the Prem there of course, and pretty sure that applied to last season's winners this time last year, and do I really need to say the word Leicester? Also still such a hesitancy to talk about us in the title contender conversation as if it's an alien notion to them. I think some forget how over a two season period we were the best team in the league, and not just from a biased Spurs perspective, from '15 -'17. Sure, mention the potential weak mentality and lack of ability to win when it really counts if you must (though this can at least be somewhat argued against) but don't pretend we haven't been in and around the conversation in recent history. It's the same as pundits prediction us to finish outside the top 4, somewhat understandable this summer (though there was evidence to the contrary) but aside from maybe the year that followed us finishing 2nd, most people had us finishing 5th or 6th despite us starting to be top 4 regulars. They just can't accept that we have disrupted the supposed rightful order of things.
Still cracks me up how many pundits stuggle with fitting 6 into 4.
So many times they say something like 'I think it'll be a, b ,c and d' followed by 'but what about e?' And they realise they've left out Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea etc. Steam erupts from their ears followed by
'Computer says no' lol.

Yea Dave Jones seems like a decent guy and Mark Chapman no qualms with him either oh and Laura Woods because she's an absolute rocket.

But back on topic as long as they start to respect us as potential challengers if by xmas time we are in the mix then no problem otherwise its just standard Man.U,Liverpool boring bias.
