Nothing to see here just the legendary Aaron Mclean (yeah me neither) stating we can't enjoy those moments. ??‍♂️

Fans celebrate 96th minute equaliser against London rivals and his reaction is………that’s strange, that’s unusual……I’m all confused. In the pantheon of dumbass football commentators and pundits, take a bow Aaron

Can I just ask, why is there an ex female player on every analysis panel now?
From what I’ve seen so far (only two weeks in) the main presenter goes to the female pundits for tactical insight.

They then go to the old pros for banter, complaining about modern players and boring vanilla ‘man down pub’ summaries.

LADS LADS LADS wheyyyyyy men playing a man’s game, we’ve got our football back.

Carney gets things wrong sometimes (she's a person) but she's still much more attuned than Merson, Jamie O'Hara, Jamie Redknapp or Chris Sutton, all of whom are stealing a living.

Quite like Neville (he's obviously biased but it's football, he's meant to be), Carragher's smart, Shearer's gotten loads better and Richards/Crouch are both fresh air. Let's just hope Lampard keeps getting jobs to keep him away.

One thing I noticed on the match of the day highlights was that they only showed the one angle for the Bentancur challenge on Havertz that made it look a clear foul. There was no mention of the other angle that showed it was a clean tackle.

Do they not have access to all the footage? Or was it just lazy reporting?

Celebration policing is one of the last bastions of the bitter opposition fan. Shows they're desperate.

It was a last minute equaliser in a fiery derby game. How did they expect us to react? Half of what they're complaining about was just Bissouma trying to endear himself to the fans anyway.

Also very rich coming from a team whose manager celebrated their second goal like a cup final winner.

Every team in any sport would react the same to a situation like that

Embarassing to try and have a pop for a team celebrating a late equaliser given that every single football fan will have done the same given the scenario. I remember us going mental salvaging a 4-4 draw at home to Aston Villa for christ's sake. Within the context of a very highly charged game where you're facing a loss, of course you're delighted to equalise, especially when this fixture is as guaranteed a loss for us as they come every year.

Gray did a silly little laugh version. The real insanely biased version was this one (can never remember the commentator's name):

You are absolutely right. For some reason I remember it as Gray. He's still a **** though

Can I just ask, why is there an ex female player on every analysis panel now? None of them have any relevance to the Premier League. It just seems a weird token effort to have them on. I am all for equality but I don’t see their relevance. It’s like having a 70 year old ex pro on, they’ve nothing in common with the game today so why should they be in the studio. I’d much rather have Richards, Defoe, Dawson even Merson on. If tv companies want to do more for the women’s game put more money into it or put more games on.
I mean, so long as the person is knowledgeable and passionate about the game, does the gender matter? Opportunities for and coverage of, many female athletes has been so woeful in some areas, for so many years that I don't think media opportunities should also be curtailed. There are plenty of very well respected female commentators and pundits in the USA. They know their stuff. We need to catch up.

It would be nice if we were getting pundits on based on their tactical insight and presentation skills, but we're absolutely not.

Token women like the adds-nothing Carney and the God-awful get-in-the-bin Farrah Williams are doing no more good for the women's game than old dinosaurs like Souness or biased bitter twats like Redknapp. They're all rubbish.

There is so much awful punditry in the game and the introduction of women isn't improving things - it's just adding a wider pool of banality. If we were watching Emma Hayes - a proper student of the game - as the Chelsea rep in the studio it'd be different. But they won't put her in front of the camera, they only want the "glam" ones. It's the Alex Scott school of hiring.

Don't think football is somehow moving on and modernising just because there's some women appearing in the studios - it's still absolute tokenism, and the BBC and Sky are both as bad as each other at it.

RE punditry, does anybody else get irritated by Dermot Gallagher from „Ref Watch”?

Guy has as much tv charisma as a shitting sloth.
