I see that muppet merson is on one again today. Honestly how he is given such a platform is beyond me.

"Tottenham have done nothing spectacular"

Fourteen goals in the last four games conceding two

What am i missing here?

He should stay on his specialist subject, becoming a socialist wannabe MP.

He said in that article that Hugo made save after save in the first half. Errrrrr that’s what a goalkeeper is for. Very Mersy.

Paul Merson stopped being relevant the day he retired from playing professional football. If anyone can show me a single thing that he has done/said which has made any sense in the past 20 years I'll be amazed.

Carragher’s a far more insightful and balanced pundit IMO. He’s arguably the best on TV.

It’s funny CBS has paired Carragher up with Micah Richards on their CL coverage, a pundit who offers zero insight and is painfully biased.

On the other hand, his ex-City teammate, Onouha, is a great up-and-coming voice in football. He’s very intelligent and considered in all of his analysis.
I'd take Micah Richards over Merson all day long though.

At least Richards always has a smile on his face and doesn't take himself too seriously.

Such a platform? abu.bz is barely even a website, the home page lands you on a "yep, someone owns this" placeholder - this is precisely the platform I expect to see him on, the digital equivalent of standing on a pile of free newspapers outside a suburban train station, wearing a sandwich board.

Yep -he's biased beyond belief and useless at getting his points across live on TV

True about the footballing side- but he's helped people to overcome their demons that he also had, so I give him a pass on that.

But how he gets to keep his job when he offers so little professionally I'll never understand.
Oh well- onwards and upwards

seriously mate its a totally different reference and your making drama where there isn't any.

Are all Americans (and Aussies, South Africans basically all English speakers other than us) Evil for calling petrol Gas.

Quite obvious that the shortening of gasoline to gas is not a racist term.

I mean (without undermining the abhorrent actions by the Nazi's during the second world war) it's a little like asking if Elephants are upset my Americans calling the boot of a car a trunk?

Gas: Gasoline
Petrol: Petroleum

How people get from either of those words to to something more sinister is beyond me?

It was on sky sports news....he has a regular column.

The original tweet I posted was just the first one I came across to post on here for ease.

Starts talking Spurs around 15:40

Neville unsurprisingly being very dismissive of spurs recent from. Basically claiming that we've luckily fallen into 4th and conveniently ignoring that we've scored more than anyone in 2022.

Having listened to him in a previous podcast after Arsenal lost to Liverpool I remember that he didn't even mention us in the top4 race.

Starting at 21.50 below he's talking about how he still thinks that United can finnish 4th and Arsenal might not do it. We were three points below Arsenal at the time.

Mr Double Standards is going to downplay any Conte achievements at Spurs because his comments about Conte "not being a good fit" for United have been slandered and come back to bite him on the backside.

Same. I don't greatly value what Richards says, I find he often just states the obvious in a dramatic way, but I don't hear near the same amount of bullshit come out of his mouth when compared with Merson.

Pundits dont really grate on me as much as they do to you guys so im fine with pundits generally, I just dont like stupidity. I dont mind bias and certainly dont mind controversial views etc but I cant stand stubborn stupidity and the whole ifs and buts.

Merson is a **** though and no doubt when we lose a game he will shout out that he was right... football teams are going to lose games you know - you damn idiot. We havent done anything spectacular yet im in that camp, we have won a few games you would expect us to win but to say it in a balanced way is fine (we have improve how we are performing there is a long way to go but theyre on the right path etc) but to say it to try to strengthen your shitty case is another.

Im chucking him in with Carlton Cole and Gabby Agbonlahor dumb heap

Agree with this completely. No clichés or bias in sight so far that I've seen.

Those last two you mention, must have one hell of an agent as they are two of the thickest footballers and now pundits the world has ever seen. They weren't even good footballers which to be fair to Merson he can at least fall back on.

I think Onuoha has done the smart thing by going into a lot of podcasting as well as TV gigs, just so he spends so much time talking about the game and honing his delivery that way. He's definitely impressed me so far.
