Hawksbee & Jacobs is a great, very un-talksport like show. Charlie Baker & Max Rushden fit in well as guest presenters too & when doing their own show

Max Rushden has basically kept that station going single handed at some stages. During covid especially, he seemed to be the number one backup presenter on their list for when regulars got sick, plus his weekend shows, some days he was on air for hours on end.

It would be a struggle but he's as baffled as anyone by it and it just made the whole thing more entertaining, he's very good at filling time with nonsense - my Sunday's aren't complete without AUTOBIOGRAPHY WAAAAARRRS! now :D

I really like Max. Doesn't seem to have an ego or take himself too seriously but knows his stuff & is also funny. His dad's a Spurs fan, Max is a Cambridge fan but he's got a soft spot for Spurs. Think he calls us his favourite club that win things & pretty sure he means favourite big club & isn't taking the piss out of our lack of trophies in recent years

I don't think he was taking the piss out of Ange, he was taking the piss out of Neville. It was Neville who made the first comment about him copying Pep in the United game, and Ange made a joke about it after the Bournemouth game. Carra was trying to get Neville in the shit
Best bit was when Neville said ‘I tried copying Pep too’ and Ange replied ‘How did that go’?

Loved that. Neville’s laugh was starting to grate on me a bit. It’s glaring just how refreshing having a normal, clever, witty bloke like Ange is on screen.

Also during the Overlap fan debate, Neville said, "any manger using inverted full backs is just copying Pep and don't know how to properly use them" or words to that effect.

Asked about Spurs’ start to the season, Wenger told beIN SPORTS on Saturday: ‘If I said after 10 games [they’d be] top of the league…
‘You ask me, not a tricky question because I like always to say what I feel deeply, and I believe Tottenham will be one of the contenders for the league.
‘They bought Maddison, who is a great player and who is that link from low midfield to high midfield, and added some technical creativity to the team.
‘They bought Van de Ven who I find exceptional. I find him absolutely exceptional.
‘They had weaknesses there [at the back] and last year [Hugo] Lloris didn’t have the best of seasons as well.
‘And overall, the movement from Son into the middle, looks very good.’
Asked if he thinks Spurs are a genuine contender for the title or just top four, Wenger added: ‘For the Premier League.
‘I would say Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham and City of course will always come back. They look like the four who will fight at the moment for the Premier League.’

I have warmed to Wenger since he left that lot down the road

That's going to trigger arsenal fans.

Really enjoyable listen from Earle and Mustoe. Talking about how good Spurs and our signings have been without resorting to 'Yeah, but it's Spurs they are not good enough for a title race'.

They are excited by the way we are playing because it makes for a more interesting league and doesn't try to rain on the parade because they support another top 6 club.

This is starkly different to how these two have historicallly talked about us, particularly last year when we started strongly. They didn't buy it and being the stupid fuck I was about Conte, I was always irritated with them.

They are fully on board now and I think that's a good sign as far as pundits are concerned.

I never really minded Wenger tbh, he always came across as a fairly decent bloke. Sure I used to love seeing him squirm and Fergie's Arsenal and Jose's Chelsea beat them lot down the road but you have to have respect for Wenger and aside from trying to start a fight with Martin Jol he never really did anything too offensive and I generally respect his opinions on football especially now he thinks we will win the league ;)

I envied Arsenal when they had Wenger in the early days. He was definitely ahead of the game when it came to scouting, nutrition and tactics. He was a trail blazer to some degree. His stubbornness and inability to evolve towards the end tarnished his legacy a little.

Always loved to hate him purely due to the rivalry and he was an appalling loser ( although the best managers almost always are), but yeah he was always an intelligent guy and someone who when they spoke generally about football was worth listening to…….

….. it’s precisely because of this though that I was a bit surprised when he came up with that bullshit about how he wanted to change offsides a few years ago.
