The truth about John Bostock is very simple: When he was signed, although he was just a tiny-tot, the Ramos regime publicly stated that he was brought to be integrated into the 1st team (maybe they said or meant squad, I don't remember) sooner rather than later. It never happened - Redknapp took over soon after.
What it did do was raise the expectations of the fans and of the player. Redknapp had other plans - to bring him through, more conventionally, and assimilate him into the first team, after a few loans, if eh was deemed good enough. I, for one, think that Redknapp was right and the Ramos regime was wrong, on this one.
So, the fact that he has been under the radar a bit and out for a few loans means absolutely jack-shi'ite - and I really wish folk would stop either writing him off completely, or fussing over it like a bunch of slightly slow teeny bints at a Robbie Williams concert.
As has been shown today, he hasn't been totally discarded, and he is being given the same chances as everyone else - it is up to him to take those chances.

well today was his first pre season game so either hes been injured or he has fallen well down the pecking order as the likes of Carroll and Luango who play in his position have played in a fair few games

Both Carroll & Luongo will be better players than John. While Bostock has been on a stagnant line for some time, those two players have been developing and doing extremely well for our academy.

Problem with bostock is that he was an early developer, physically, and now that other kids have developed he no longer sticks out from the crowd. Was poor on loan to Hull. I think Carroll and Mason are already better players, both who play a great style of football. Rather then Bostocks running up and down the pitch aproach
