The thing about Lamela is that he has demonstrated his skills and ability. He has shown he can be a world class player. The problem from him is not ability - rather it is being able to consistently play at that level. He has not done it for 90 minutes, let alone several matches in a row.

But, that is different than some players who have not shown that ability.

He has maybe shown he has the potential to be a world class player but he has not shown himself to be one outright. No at Spurs anyway.

I said "not at spurs anyway". In his last season at Roma, he showed potential to be a great player. He has not shown that form again since - yes his first year at us was a bit of a disaster but I personally have not seen anything myself, in the last two years to make me think that this guy is going to be 'world class'.

We actually have a guy who plays on the opposite flank who scored over 5 times the amount of goals than him, nearly as many assists, had a virtually world class performance vs Chelsea in the 5-3 in a season where his dad died and i never hear anyone say that he has shown he could be world class yet, Lamela has for us?

I just dont see it.

EDIT: I do realise i was slightly contradicting myself - but i had meant to emphasise that I have not seen that potential in a spurs shirt.
