I love how during the window, lots of people said that Lennon should be sold and is not good enough

And then after the NLD, the same people were saying we missed his pace

Some spurs fans are Astonishing. Absolutely Astonishing.

He is still and will always be my favourite spurs player...

For the AMF, i would like to see:

Lennon - Eriksen - Lamela

Knowing AVB, he will switch lennon & lamela so they cut in

Yes I like the look of that too and I'm sure we will see it. By the way I don't buy the argument that Lennon shouldn't be there because he won't get 10 goals in the season. Will Chadli or Townsend do better in that respect ? We expect Soldado and Lamela to lead the way but more goals from midfielders like Eriksen and Paulinho is also part of the picture.

What's the deeeal with Lennon? He's not Lenn, and he's not on!

But on a more serious note, are there any reports on his injury? I hear he's ruled out of the Norwich game. Any hints as to when we can expect him back?

Lennon is lethal, and has been for years. Amazed how he still underrated and still passed over for England in favour of Theo fecking Walcock. Townsend is very handy but I still rate Azza above him... and as good as Lamela has been for Roma he still needs to prove himself.

Best right sided midfielder in the squad.

Fuck off. Seriously.
Yeah seriously, he's different class to Chadli! FFS you're the typical Supporter who think that a brand new signing is the answer, short memory mate, did you never notice his work rate, tracking back? Pace to burn, scaring the life out of defences, he has weaknesses but ill tell you something, if Chadli has half the career for us Lennon has ill hold my hands up, but he won't, he's not good enough, don't need half a season to see he is no more than a decent squad player.

I'll qualify my next statement by saying that I rate Lennon and it always feels wrong dropping him because on his day he's incredibly effective and dangerous. However my massive bug bear with him, and I've said it on here 100 times, is that he's still the same player that we signed from Leeds. As in, almost identically. He has hardly developed his game, he has never progressed like other players of similar talent (Walcott, Bale, Rooney etc). He still plays the same game, the same way. He should have been an England regular for years, he should have been attracting attention from the very top clubs. He should have been scoring double-digits every season, same with assists. In short he should have been a star. That's what frustrates me and that's why Lamela and Townsend should be given the chance to develop at RM.

Like the idea of

Lennon Lamela and Eriksen rotating in the amf especially during away games. Lennon will definitely get some playing time. Still think he's above Townsend on the premier league depth chart

No, I'm the typical supporter that is willing to give one of our new signings more than three league games before I decide what the rest of his career will be like for us. I've said nothing about a brand new signing being the answer - I just think Chadli has looked decent, nothing terrible nothing mind-blowing, and if he's looked that way in his first few games while getting settled into a completely different league then I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt that he'll grow into a useful player. Maybe he won't be first team material, maybe he will. Jesus he's played in the PL three times and you've already given up on him. You haven't even given him half a season, you've given him 1/~13th of a season.

He's not the same as the one we signed from Leeds. That one had the guts to run at and beat any opposing defender. The Lennon of today prefers to pass sideways or backwards much more.

when we played inter away the inter fans were all asking about lennon they seem to idolise him out there.

we did mention our then no 3 who went on to score three.

Lennon has become part of spurs and I hope the competition for a place in the starting line up will make him a better player.

I also think his best time for us was when he was supported by Corluka.

Think Lennon makes an awesome impact sub, especially if we can get him cutting inside and running at the cb's. Even if we're trying to hold on to a lead he's still a good sub because he offers so much threat on the counter when playing from deep.

I started this thread because the signings we made along with the promotion of Townsend suggests his days may be numbered. We still don't know for sure but the thing that stands out most from the comments since is how many people have written off Chadli already. Anyone remember Sandro when he started?, Modric?, Kaboul? Please folks we need to be patient. FC Twente to THFC is one hell of a leap... 6 months minimum before we see him settle. Same with Vlad by the way.

He is a solid squad player but his time as a starter is probably over now.

Its not right to compare Walcott and Lennon, one thinks like a forward and the other thinks like a (traditional) winger.
I really don't understand this argument. they've both played in the same position for the majority of their careers so far. the fact that Walcott has more (and has added more) to his game than Lennon is kind of the whole point. at one stage Walcott was seen as a highly inferior version of Lennon, and is now far superior in Lennon's position and can also play in others. Lennon for whatever reason hasn't added other dimensions to his game.

why was it a fair comparison to us when Walcott was crap but not now that he's not?

I've said it numerous times over the last few days ; Lennon is the type of player who's contribution you only realise when he's not playing. Lennon being injured is no bad thing as it has allowed Townsend to get some starts and feel part of things. This in turn means that when he is fit he will have to displace Townsend or Chadli rather than just waltz back into the team.

He has been coasting but now he has real competition and I hope he thrives on it. Also, I can imagine the last thing any opponent wants to see is Lennon coming off the bench when the game is stretched.

Selling him was one of my big fears yesterday and am so glad we didn't. We simply can't afford to be without both Bale and Lennon from our squad.
....and there's no other winger in the squad to replace him. he's not been playing recently, and it hasn't unbalanced or disadvantaged us one bit
