On a more serious note, I doubt I will be joining up with the team in Hong Kong. He needs rest after a long season. He's much more likely to be surfing on Kuta Beach, one of his favourite hangouts in the popular Indonesian tourist resort.

It's fair to say he's probably going to be in pretty good shape having played recently at the Confed Cup, so I'm not too concerned about him being out of shape.

Could do with a couple of friendlies though just to get used to our style of play.

Good point but I would have thought that they'd get him in and do his fitness assessments and do the sports sciences/diet stuff.

Maybe my thinking is just too efficient for a football club

I think top football clubs are pretty efficient these days, our people don't strike me as fools.
