I thought Davids was on loan at Barca for half a season? and we would have signed him from Juve?

oh yeah, Lineker!!... Was Davids on loan from Juve, I cant remember.. Possibly tho..

We got Klinsmann from Monaco, and he went to Bayern.

Gazza to Lazio too, but I cant remember any big european clubs buying off of us, or us buying off of them.. Maybe that shows a lack of ambition/and or quality in players on our part over the last 20 odd years??

Frank Brettell, our first manager, was Bolton secretary-manager and brought half of the Bolton team with him when he took over at Spurs. He then fucked off to Pompey when they offered him more money.

Loyalty just isn't what it was in the old days.

And Rule Fox, Kevin Scott, Chris Waddle and im sure we sold them one of our young strikers at some point as well. Cant think of his name though.

garry brady young scottish midfielder left us just as he was starting to become a match day regular but chose them because they offered more cash - never heard about him since then.

Ah, we had a 'special relationship' with them from the 1920s. I think there's something about it in the Spurs Miscellany, but had a quick Google and found this really fascinating PDF. Very well written and researched, and highly recommended for anyone interested in our history.

www.soccer-history.co.uk/arsenaltottenhamnursery.pdf

It shows the difference in class. We have a relatively successful relationship with our 'nursery' team. Margate, on the other hand, are run into the ground by the dirty, scummy, filthy scum scum (that's Arsenal for those who aren't clear)

Off the top of my head I would have said Leeds/WHU

I'm not sure if the valuations are correct, a lot of the time Spurs never reveal the fee, it's mostly unconfirmed reports from the media
