Which player from the past would you have liked to see under Poch?

Out of all the serious ones, the dos Santos suggestion is one of the most intriguing. Does anyone think that Poch could have done something with Taarabt?

I think a players attitude is as important to Poch as their ability, which is why Mason lasted longer than Bentaleb.

Neither Taarabt or GdS had the minerals, let alone workrate be players under the gaffer.

Ledley would have been an interesting conundrum for Poch, Bale would naturally fit our 4231 and give us pace and goals from the right, Modric would be a dream in this team (I still have a romantic notion, that he will return at the end of his Madrid contract as a Cambiasso esq signing).

Apart from those, I wonder if he could have sprinkled his full back magic dust on Paolo Tramezzani?

Good points. I remember Taarabt making his debut, coming on against Derby I believe and he looked good but in hindsight it was just showboating against a poor side and we weren't overburdened with creativity at the time if memory serves. Now, if you take a genuinely supremely talented player like Modric and think what else Poch could have done with him then that gets the old heart racing a bit! Not sure about Tramezzani!

Van Der Vaart would have been an interesting one. Major crash diet and training regime would have turned him into a 90 minute player from the one that Arry used to substitute every week after 60 minutes.

Bale or Modric 100%
I believe if we had them in our squad we would have won the title back to back over the last 2 seasons
pipe dream as will never happen but gutted we didn't have Poch instead of Harry back then

Iago Falque has become a good player, Poch might've given him a chance.

Aye, Keano's a good shout but he was class anyway. Who could Poch have helped realise his potential? Jenas ideal.

Waddle, not just because he is my favourite player but because he is the missing link Poch has been searching for, pace, trickery and finishing. Just imagine this in our current team.

Oyvind Leonhardsen!

edit: his clever movement and non stop running would have been a good baseline for Poch to work on.

Two players imho who could have had a better chance at realising their potentials :
Kevin Prince Boateng
Adel Taarabt.

Hear me out before you lot slaughter me, Taarabt admittedly had piss poor dedication to the game. but isn't that something Poch and his management instill in the players from the beginning? I feel if he would have been in the academy now, he would have shaped up to be better physically and mentally.

This team is crying out for a Modric (isn't every team?). A metronomic CM who can move the ball quickly with wit and vision, who keeps doing it for 90 mins.

Oh, and fucking Huddlestone....seriously.....jesus wept. The last thing this team needs is lardy donkey who gives the ball away whenever he tries to do anything remotely difficult. We have one of those already in midfield.

My choice would be Gascoigne...it would have been a wonderful partnership' I'm sure that Gazza would have prospered greatly by having his natural talents and wildfire personality harnessed and controlled by Poch....it would have been a 'father/son' relationship and no way would he have wanted to be anywhere else in the world other than Spurs. Gazza was brilliant, utterly superb but under Poch's wing the possibilities would have been boundless for him and I'm sure he would have not taken the sad path he decided upon.
