Although they are still winning they aren’t playing as well as they were early in the season. They were blowing teams away but now winning by odd goal. I think the tie on the whole will be you have a shot we have a shot. Could see some crazy aggregate score like 7-4 to us. Also remember last season I think they’d won their first 6 and had best form in Europe till they played us and then their season fell apart ?

Rumors in the States that Chelsea is going to make a run at Pulisic in January. Would absolutely hate to see him go to them but weaken Dortmund for sure.

so $1 million question.

will new stadium be ready for 13th Feb ?
Personally, i think it will be cutting it extremely close even if all fire safety tests and the test events pass. We wont have a certificate until after the test events which dates wont get confirmed until the Jan 7 update at the earliest. Im thinking UEFA might force us to stay at Wembley for Europe this season.

He’d be loaned back to them until the summer and he hasnt played much this season anyway.

Metalhead

But that's a debate for another thread.....

Makes sense. I wouldn't mind it waiting until next season now and seeing a proper grand opening.

Honestly don't know why it matters. Surely 3-4 weeks is enough for people to figure out how they're getting from their hotel to the grounds regardless of whether it's NWHL or Wembley. They're booking their flights to the same place either way, it's not like it would be moved to a completely different city 4 hrs away if it doesn't get approved.

and they've cancelled the flights which are now 6x more expensive. Fuming doesn't cover it.

I prefer Dortmund to PSG, Bayern, Juve and even Real. With PSG, they have a frightening front 3 and the others have experience and know how.

Dortmund are in a similar position to us last year. They are young, play with energy and topped a relatively tough group but they are still a bit naïve. Hopefully our experiences from last year will help.

When we played them at Wembley last year, they were unbeaten then and we were yet to win at Wembley but we won and they went downhill thereafter and ended up sacking their manager. They are better than last year and bought well over summer but the ties are not for another 2 months.

One thing for sure is we need a fully fit squad for these games. Particularly with the Chelsea, Arsenal games so close.

When is Dembele due back in training?

They do it every time not sure why you're suprised. Better off waiting and booking the flights closer the time. Or going for a few days.

Would rather play a form team than one who know how to get over the line playing poorly in these big competitions.

This. Look Dortmund have been fantastic this season but Bayern being sub-standard has almost illuminated their form even more.

But Bayern have the know how and are exceptionally experienced on the big stage.

Tough choice but I'd prefer to face Dortmund overall.

Also think it's beneficial that most of the club has played at Dortmund before. Won't be taken aback by the spectacle.

It would have been great if we got Porto but Dortmund is the best alternative by far!

Think people are overestimating Dortmund this season, yes they are currently top but its the Bundesliga with a grandad Bayern side.
They have a weak midfield and poor wingbacks, we can get at them!

The only concern I see is their wingers vs our LB/RB (especially with Davies he gets done for pace everytime...)

Odds on the combined aggregate score being 10+?
Seriously the most entertaining game on offer. Will be the polar opposite to athletico v juve.
Everybody can say whatever they want about this but it boils down to 3 key points imo.
1) which team converts their chances more often (id say dortmund are more lethal than us RIGHT NOW)
2) Whos defense can concede the least chances to the other to score from (if we have toby, jan, rose, auriee than we win in that respect).
3) If NWHL is ready!! European night under the lights with 62k yids desperate for german blood. We need the ferocious atmospher just as they will have at theirs. An nervous and tense wembley is not ideal.

This game will be bonkers and go to the very last minute at their place.

Edit...i added a 3rd but equally important point!!!

I like all of this, although must pull you up slightly on point 3. Dortmund will be allowed some fans into the stadium too, so maybe not 62,000 of us screaming for blood...? :)

This has to be at the new stadium . You need a home advantage in Europe a fortress . Wembley is not that
