We are spending over £400m on a new stadium. We made £1.5m profit last year. Where exactly is this money going to come from?
Just because there are billionaires out there who don't care if they lose a few hundred million every other year doesn't mean that we can. If you expect us to you are supporting the wrong club.
I know it's hard seeing the other clubs getting all the nice toys for xmas. But unfortunately we don't have the money they do. But we do the best we can with what we've got.

Spurs have had big opportunities to push on and this prudence has cost the team points. Buy the striker we needed - they had the opportunity to bring Berbatov back twice - and turn the draws into wins and finish 3rd under Harry but instead Dimitar goes to Fulham for next to nothing and Spurs go for the free option of Saha and Nelsen. Last season, they could have got Berbatov again, in January, but instead they said no and he goes to Monaco.

I get why they may not want him back after what happened before but there are other players they could have gone for and passed on. Suarez is one from a few years ago.

I am not calling for 300m summer spending sprees or Man City style investment. The margins have been so fine that a few points, a few goals by one player, would have led to huge gains. The money could have set the club up for sustained CL revenue with a bit of investment in the team. It isn't much to ask. The base of a strong side is there already. Trying to do it on the cheap is keeping Spurs as also-rans in 5th or 6th.

I'd imagine most of the construction cost will come from naming rights and sponsors, agreed as a loan between contractors and the club.

Chavski.

Absolutely loathe Mourinho, the fans, the club, the lot. City i'm ambivalent to now. Liverpool - as much as I dislike the fans, they at least play the game fairly and deserve to be there, so can't begrudge them that. I agree with @Spurger King though, there fans would become even more intolerable though.

Liverpool.

Growing up in the 80's when everyone started to get into football lots of people my age started supporting them because they were good. Consequently I've quite a few friends who support them yet never even bother trying to get tickets when they come and play in London. At least try and do that if you "support" them.

That what annoys me and their support increasing just because they are doing well. I'm sure they've almost got as many glory hunters as arsenal & Chelsea nowadays.

My mate the other day asked to borrow £5. I didn't have any money on me.
- It's only a fiver!
- I've not got any money on me.
- Tight ****.
You remind me of him.

Shame your mate didn't make a 1.5m profit last year then. Spurs could have swallowed a short term loss to gain the points required for 30m in CL revenue. I just think Spurs could do more to actually realise the ambitions they sell to the fans, and maybe you should have visited an ATM that day.

We are spending £400m on a new stadium. We can't afford to make a loss. We can't afford to borrow.
Even if we spent £25m on a striker there is no guarantee. Look at soldado.
We are investing in our long term future. Training ground and stadium. That is where our money is going. If you think that is a mistake fair enough. I don't.

Hold on. Thread title doesn't match the poll! I clicked who I least wanted to win!! Now I can't change it.

This thread is broken!

Yep massive fail. Can't even tell what the result means because we don't know how many people answered the question incorrectly.

In any case it seems Liverpool is the answer for who we don't want to win the league, which is what I'd voted for.

In fact I'd love the following scenario: City draw with Everton, Liverpool draw with Crystal Palace, all teams are on 81 points on the final day. Chelsea are winning away at Cardiff, Liverpool drawing with Newcastle, and City losing to West Ham. +4 minutes added in the game at Anfield, Liverpool score a goal depriving Chelsea of the title and thinking they've won it. + 6 minutes added at Man City, City score a goal in the 90th minute, then Aguero scores in the 95th minute, and City beat Chelsea and Liverpool on goal difference. Cut to scenes of weeping at Anfield.

The only way to make that better would be to throw West Ham relegation into the picture, but that doesn't look likely.

Liverpool have the worst fans. I can't handle hearing them crowing.

Liverpool all the way. I'm used to Chelsea doing well, I don't really mind City (I don't like them, but they are by far the lessest of the evils in top 4), but I absolutely can't stand Liverpool supporters. If they win it, I'm gonna have to take a long break from all social media.

I've edited the poll and also amended the names to the actual names of the teams.

Never really seen the need to call them anything but their name.

Plus, it's totally Chelsea. Never like to see them do well.

If I take a step back then I kinda think "fair play" to Liverpool.

Talk of Liverpool playing and winning fair is a bit crazy to me.. Yeah they play some nice football, but

a) they've spent quite a lot more than us for past couple of years
b) fairly? Their front 3 of Suarez, Sturridge and Sterling could be classified as cheats with the amount of diving and falling over they do, hate it and its embarrassing

Humour?

Or is it now in the realm of 'cyber bullying' to poke fun at a rival football team?

Never found it particularly funny.

Etc.

It has to be Chelsea. They have really nasty fans, they have some major tossers in their team, they play negative football in most games and their manager is an even bigger twat than our own.

For the record because I don't think I can change my vote (at least not on a phone) I LEAST want Chelsea to win. & I suppose I most want City to win. Probably the least objectionable fans & in a way of thinking it's meaningless if they win. Everyone knows they bought it so we can just condescend to anyone giving it large about it

City... Hate to say it but we always go about "our club is run the right way", Liverpool, yes have spend money but they aren't bankrolled like the chavs or shity, I really respect what I have seen form them as a team and the manager. I would never say that to any of their fans however.

Liverpool- but not because I dislike them the most. Out of Chelsea, Man City and liverpool it is Liverpool who I feel we can most likely catch over the coming seasons but not if they win the league....
