Watching the US tour, I can't help but think that Capoue is going to be huge for us next season. He was highly regarded in France until AVB and Sherwood broke him. He's completely suited to the PL in both physique and playing style and I think, with the huge influx of players we brought in last year we, as fans, failed to realise what a hugely important player we could have on our hands.

Can see him becoming a Viera type character. Think he'll be important for us this year.

Anyone else have any ideas who might be currently flying under the radar but become be a big player for us this season.

Capoue looked sluggish to me, I'm not sure if he can boss a midfield anywhere near as well as Sandro. His passing showed signs of being impressive though

Kyle Walker. Not that much of a surprise maybe but I think a lot of people have begun to write him off. Puting my neck on the line, I reckon he will be our player of the season.

Agreed that Mason has looked like he could make the step up this season. As many have mentioned, Holtby seems to be ticking the boxes for Poch. I'm in agreement about Capoue too.

Essentially, I'd expect nearly all of the new signings from last season to have drastically better campaigns. I still think there is more to come from Soldado.

I am going to mentioned a player some of the haters on here are going to disagree with, but from what i have seen of Pooch's first games the link up behind our main striker has shown just what a good player Lennon is. If he can keep it up i expect a few haters could be made to look silly.

Yep I'm in agreement.

Lennon looked good in the US, particularly against Toronto and Chicago. Looked much better than Townsend and could well excel under Poch.

Painful memories, man. To think he would have looked to get rid of Capoue, Lamela, Soldado, Holtby....

What a waster.

Anyway, Capoue (Holtby close second).

Wildacard: Cabellos.

Lamela being POS wouldn't be a surprise to me, so can't pick him.:)

*Prepares to be laughed off the board*

I think that at some point before the end of the season Ryan Fredericks will be our 1st choice right back.

Whilst he is raw and makes mistakes, every time I have seen him play (including Europa last season), he has looked terrifyingly quick, and not afraid to get to the byline / take a player on.

You know, like Lennon used to, last decade.

Agree that Capoue has looked very good but I share the concern that he seems a bit one paced and slow to turn especially when a player goes past him. The next two games against better opposition will show us more of his capabilities. I'm a big fan of Mason who's showed us a lot on this tour but want to see him against stronger opposition too, likewise Ceballos.

Have my personal doubts that Walker will improve much more as his decision making is very poor, can Fredricks step up, big ask for a young lad but feel he needs to get physically stronger before he's ready for the EPL.

Hopefully he'll become a Viera type player, but never a Viera character... the pea headed twunt.

But I agree, I think Capoue was exactly the sort of player we needed in a lot of games last season. Was fantastic against Man Utd.

I'm hoping that Lamela is going to be absolutely fantastic this season, knock the premiership sideways, and then get tapped up/signed by one of the European giants.
