My earliest memories of watching football properly were in 1990/91 when we had Italia 90 and then the Spurs FA Cup win, so Gazza and Lineker were the two obvious ones.

Outside of Spurs I used to love watching Italian football, and the year that AC Milan hammered Barca in the final I remember loving their midfield of Boban, Albertini, Donadoni etc.

Early years - Ian Rush (Liverpool were the only side shown on TV a lot when I was a kid)

Middle Years - Steve Bull or Paul Allen

Now - Tim Sherwood.

Pavel Nedved, loved how he would bustle past opposition players with the ball and hammer it in.

What a legend. Some unbelievable strikes with either foot, from any angle. Just seen him play a charity game in Italy in the guy's still in great condition. Hasn't lost his touch either.

Hoddle and then Gazza.

Internationally it was Maradona, Van Basten and Robbie Baggio.

Literally every Spurs player was a hero to me when I was growing up.

Before you realise some players are wankers or useless or a waste of space or before you really care about the running of a football club and other factors than just loving your team. I even cued up for hours to meet Colin bloody Calderwood. All of the Spurs players were idols. Those days of ignorant innocence, they were enjoyable. Now I talk to you pricks and i'm all cynical.

Roberto Baggio, Ronaldo, Gazza and Romario

Roberto Baggio, stunning player.

Thank goodness someone finally said it! The divine ponytail was fantastic. I also used to model my penalties on Beppe Signori for Lazio... by which I mean the one step stance, not the paying the goalkeeper off to let it in part.

Also used to pretend to be Matt Le Tiss, Teddy, and Hristo Stoichkov. I remember having a bit of a fascination with the Dutch team in the 90s as well... The De Boers, Bergkamp, Overmars, Davids etc etc

It was always Jimmy Greaves for me. There is nothing in the game more beautiful than endlessly scoring goals
