why has pavlyuchenko just moved for ten million pounds, while saha has been given away by a midtable club who struggle for goals and need every player they can get?

The Bassong and Pienaar loans are the ones that have weakened us. Happy enough with Saha coming in, but Corluka going and not being replaced, Bassong being replaced by Nelsen (has this even been confirmed?), and Pienaar not being replaced at all just strikes me as incredibly stupid....even more so when you consider where we are as a club right now.

Remember that time when we had strength in depth?

Whilst I am baffled about Nelsen he's only last resort cover, and as I replied in the transfer section by my reckoning we still have 11 players when all fit who can play in midfield positions.

The only place we look a bit short is at RB.

Is it that hard to see why?

Ask Pav to come off the bench with 15 to go, he'll stand 5 yards off the penalty area, pottering about, wondering when he'll get to come off again, if he gets the ball, he'll twat it, occasionally it goes in.

Ask Saha to come on with 15 to go, he'll actually be like having a striker on the pitch, an experienced striker, who wants to play, a 'substitute' if you will, won't that be nice!

Agree but, the same can be said for Defoe, to be honest  Attitude-wise he may be different to Pav but either way the result is still the same in terms of how he performs.

I do like having the option of bringing on Saha though, he's someone who can really come in and possibly change a game if needed. I'm not calling him a world beater all of a sudden but he's the type of player who can cause defenses problems. He's usually a nuisance to the opposition.

Defoe + Saha as backup strikers, not bad, not bad at all.

The Saha signing is very similar to getting Gudjohnsen in to replace Keane. A similar type of player but with more (hopefully) hunger and willingness to do well. Both Keane and Pav clearly wanted out. Plus i think Saha is more suited to the lone striker than Pav is. Welcome Louis!!

I'm surprised we let Pienaar go without getting in cover. I'm also disappointed to see Bassong go, thought he was better than given credit for. But if his heart wasn't in it then I guess it was the right thing.

Wonder if Levy has been putting pressure to get rid, so Harry allowed more to go than he might be totally comfortable with - in the hope that the summer could be more concentrated on signing top top players - with the carrot of confirmed Champions League...

Unhappy players out...

More motivated and experienced players who know their place in the team (due to age) in on loan...

Now we have the flexibility of getting the players we really want and need in the summer depending on our position then. Financial stand point...good.

Overall I think it's a decent window for us.

After last summer with Friedel, Adebayor and Parker, I trust Harry with these transfers more.

cant nelson ply rb? can we recall naughton or adam smith?

We can only recall Smith now.

I'd have liked to have had the option of recalling Naughton during the window. He has been Ghaly for Norwich this season.

Ryan Nelson? I remember when he was drafted in the MLS. Yeah, he was drafted in the MLS. And he's ours.

We're so old now that our fucking team needs prunes to take a shit. Our WAGs have spider webs in their pussies. Harry and AVB basically have the same problems with being barely older than their stars. Our players still call Zambia and Zimbabwe....Rhodeisa. We take beta blockers before sex. Colonoscopies for everyone but Bale, bitches!!!!!

Yeh we have 2 players over 30 in our first choice XI. I'm all for experienced players to come in and do a job off the bench. Our only two oldies in the regular starting lineup have done pretty well so no complaints there either.

I only worry that we have no cover at RB and that if Walker gets injured for a sustained period of time then we'll have Kaboul shifted there or Livermore there.

Bassong and Pav have both been unhappy, and if the 'reported' training ground bust ups are anything to go by we've made the right decisions getting them away from the the squad, and trimming the wage bill.

Saha (if fit) is a better replacement for Pav. Nelson is 5th choice if everyone is fit by the way and we have Caulker returning in the summer.

Why buy a shiny new Centre back for six months when you have a future England player returning from loan. The same could be argued for Naughton.

It's risky, but I can definitely see the logic. Also with Pienaar gone, Kranky will get more games and I for one am happy about that. Saving money = New stadium.

You statistic whores.

Watch the football. Not the fucking numbers.

Saha is a busy bastard. He gets in amongst it. Wins headers, has a first touch, has hold up play.

In fact, I saw him doing that at the Lane a couple of fucking weeks ago.

I watch football. Full football matches. I don't look at fucking numbers.

I've watched Pavlyuchenko give ball after ball to the opposition. Miss headers, miss easy chances, miscontrol the ball OVER AND OVER again.

If you watch how our team plays, you'll have noticed that Mr Adebayor brings players into the game. Hence our former left back scoring two, and Modders scoring the other this evening. Oh yeah - we won.

Firstly, it's for 15 games (plus maybe a few more cup games). So it's not exactly an eternity, but he'll be fresh, keen and wanting to get game time.

Pav didn't give a flying fuck. Still doesn't - as my mate John (and his wife) regularly tells me when he has lunch with him and his wife. He was here for the pay day.

He's just not good enough.

Which of the two has played for Manchester United? Which of the two has a Premier League winners medal? Which one has more experience in our league?

If you ask me nicely, I'll give you the answer.

:clap::clap::clap: here here lets give him a chance guys....Pav hasn't looked interested for a long time now
