why is it always our club that has these stories leaked before the biggest games of our season??

you dont see this rubbish coming out from Man Utd or Arse do you...its veiled but its an attack on H before a bloody crucial game, fuckin selfish tw*t

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/jermain-defoe-exclusive-interview-on-spurs-827275

wud it not be defoe and agent bigging up his player on eve of england squad and spurs biggest game this season....

ill keep saying it this guy might get a team a few goals a season , the majority of which are not hugely important ones , and quicker he is sold the better. he is simply not a team player , never was . thats the reason he doesnt play.

Poor timing really, but nothing wrong with the interview, he's a senior player now and wants to be playing week in, week out. I'd be pretty pissed off if I'd scored 15 or so goals and was barely starting. Although we can only hope he's raring to go on Sunday, playing for a place in the Euros and bang in a hatrick to secure us 3rd place.

The timing of this interview is poor... just like the timing of his runs to beat the offside trap!:sneaky:

(I'm sorry Jermain, to apologise for joking about you, I will just say, 'Jermain Defoe, is a Yiddo'.(y)

He hasn't really said much wrong imo. He hasn't disrespected the club and badmouthed us so I'm not too fussed. Perhaps he could've chosen a better time though.

He needs to be sold, best for everyone really

He's of an age where he should be playing week in week out and we're in a position when we need better than him in our starting line up.

Good player, but not a great goal scorer. I think he would be awesome for a team like Sunderland or Villa (anyone outside the top 6)

Maybe Jol will take him to Fulham

Also, calling him a selfish twat is uncalled for, the guy has over 100 goals for the club and is up there in the scoring charts with some club legends, he deserves a lot more respect whether or not you want him near the team or doesn't fit into our current system.

I for one will be disappointed when he does leave/retire at the club, and I'll always be grateful for his contribution through different Spurs teams/managers

I can understand his frustration but he's such a limited striker what can you do? He can't play up top on his own, can't play as a wide forward. And even in a 4-4-2 Saha has looked a bit better than him next to Ade.

Bottom line for me is that Defoe is just not a striker for the modern game, if you look at other small forwards like Aguero, Tevez, Rooney they have much more to their game. I know they are at the 2 best clubs but if you're going to be a small striker these days then you really need to have more attributes in your game if you want to start in a team aspiring to be in the top 4.

he is paid bloody good money by spurs & we are approaching the biggest game of our season....its selfish end of, the timing of this interview is selfish!

he is the member of a squad & should respect that until after the weekend surely?

'The manager picks the team and I would never be disrespectful to the manager. But when someone doesn’t talk to you and explain what’s going on its hard.' That line is where he is digging at Harry, but trying to do it respectfully.

I did say in my other post that the timing was wrong from our point of view, but this is his last time to play in a major tournament for his country (I think this is why he's done the interview) and he needs to get himself in the press. If he come's on early/ starts on Sunday, grabs a goal or 2, he's right in Hodgsons mind for the squad pick on Wednesday. If he scores and we win, everyone's a winner.

exactly!

wether you rate H or not it is counter productive to the club that pays his bills to do a story like this now...the timing is awful & worse than that its bloody deliberate too!

pissed me off cos i like the fella! grr

He hasn't said anything wrong there IMO.

It must be hard for him 'cos he deserves regular PL game time, just not at Spurs.
