One thing that needs to be considered with Zaha is how much of his improvement is the result of him fulfilling his potential and how much is down to him being their talisman who everything goes through.

If our scouts/management believe it is down to him fulfilling his potential we should stump up the money now as his price will continue to rise.

I'm not sure where a tricky winger fits in to our side though, I think we need a more creative CM if we really want to push on

We've already got a player who's skilful, capable of excellent finishes, clumsy and hot and cold in Son. £30-35m for Zaha is insane. I know transfer fees are starting to sky rocket but for that sort of money you'd expect some form of consistency or a game changer. I think Zaha has something about him and is decent but he's more on a Bolasie level... match winner one day a crock of shit the next 3.

I know we missed out on Burke but he's the sort of player we should be targeting... young, exciting, bundles of raw potential, on the cusp of breaking through meaning they're affordable. Sessegnon, Lopes, Brandt, Dolberg, El Ghazi, Klaassen are other examples.

This is probably the biggest question facing the squad right now - how close are we to moving to a 343 formation on a regular basis? Tricky wingers would have to unseat Eriksen as the playmaker, or Alli as a shadow striker. But both play centrally in this formation.

Maybe if we wanted a pacey striker to back up Kane...

He hasn't been this season though. You just have to remember how quickly Ronaldo, Bale and others have turned their end product around to know that it's possible for players to come into their own after a few seasons playing top level football. I'm not saying Zaha is that good though, I'm just trying to give some balance here

Apologies for the source. This story is lingering though. I'd be for it, 4 goals and 6 assists in 19 this season is good going for a struggling side. He's better than both Sissoko and Nkoudou, quick and two footed and has a lot of skill. Only thing is, we are bloated in that part of the pitch, something would have to give as Lamela, Son, Nkoudou and Sissoko are all vying for one spot as it as (when everyone's fit).

If we're going to focus on the 3-4-3 shape though, where does he play? He could play more centrally off Kane i suspose.

I don't think the 343 is going to be an outright first choice formation, I believe it will be used when necessary, as will the 4231 and even 433.
That's not the evidence of the last two months. Playing 3 at the back has been our go to, even when our best players haven't been available

He is better than Sissoko and Nkoudou. Yes, but that is similar to this scenario:

Me: yes, I'll have the surf and turf. I have never had Wagyu beef before and the lobster I read about sounds Devine

Waiter: great choice sir. I have to remind people that that menu item is $500 a head as it is the worlds rarest of meats.

Me: $500? Holy fuck, I didn't know the market for prime beef was so crazy.

Waiter: our next best option is the Angus cut we have. It is no wagyu but it is still a fine cut of meat. It runs $250.

Me: ok, that is more my style. It is my bday and let's celebrate

Waiter: perfect.

Waiter brings out food

Me: $250 dollars for this piece of meat and this lobster (Sissoko and Nkoudou if you have cought on yet)? I thought you said this was a good deal? I feel like I am staring at a piece of bay shrimp and a Boca burger.

Waiter: oh I am so sorry sir. Unfortunately we don't have much to choose from as the market for beef just keeps inflating. We do have this one cut. It has been rumored to be pretty juicy. This year this piece of meat has been the rising Phoenix amongst the beef elite.

Me: I mean I spent $250, I expect a descent meal.

Waiter brings out new meal

Me: wow, this burnt burger looks amazing. Who needs Wagou, when you can get this. I have never seen a more beautiful burnt patty. It tastes like...charcoal.

Waiter: great (snickers as he walks away)

TL;DR: why replace a boca burger with a burnt patty, when we need that Wagyu baby.
Umm...is this from the bible or something?

What I got from your story:
You were feeling lonely on your birthday so you thought you could make a friend with a waiter over your burnt meat. But the waiter was a douche so now you're taking it out on sissoko and n'koudou, in a zaha thread on sc.
Does someone need a hug?

Haangeland on Zaha:

Amazing physique and very athletic, huge potential. On some Mondays he would come over to me and say "I'm starting my program now!"He'd clearly decided to start it during the weekend.
We'd then go to the gym together and he'd do like five push-ups, sigh, and leave. He would be incredible if he was serious.

SSN reporting we're lining up a £25mil deadline day bid ... think they're source is the Express though so likely absolute bollocks lol We'll find out soon enough anyway.

Tottenham are ready to splash the cash on Deadline Day with a £25m bid for Crystal Palace's Wilfried Zaha in the pipeline.
