Don't think we will be signing him now. Looks destined for approaches from some of Europe's super powers.

Same old story with us. How many players is it now over the last 6 years or so we could have signed, baulked at the price/manager didn't fancy him/ran out of time for and they gone on to be huge players.....:(

To be fair, I'm sure that a good few of those players were never really available and was just paper talk stirred up by agents in order to advertise them.

And to think that some people on here were fuming about possibly signing him and saying we should be going for Adam Johnson instead. Plonkers!

No one wanted him in August.

This is true, I remember trying to convince several that we would be very lucky to get him (Felmani being one :) among several) - I think some hadn't seen enough of him.

I would also get another attacking midfielder to replace Lennon.

domt think Lennon is suited to 4-2-3-1

I'm not too sure that the ship has sailed regarding Willian although I do doubt we'll sign him. I reckon he'd be willing to come going by those texts convos he has with AVB but the tough part will be dealing with Shaktar. If Shaktar get through their group he may want to stay in Jan aswell.

It's comical how every player that we "narrowly" miss out on seems to then immediately go into the best form of his life, thus massively increasing outside interest and inflating his price tag exponentially.

I think it's entirely possible that we have good scouting, but we get nervous when it comes to pulling the trigger. It's like being really smooth with women but not being able to seal the deal. We are the loner left at the bar at the end of the night :grumpy:

There's a lot of silly bullshit spoken about these circumstances. Chelsea were told to fuck off by Shaktar the first time AVB tried to sign him. They are backed by a billionaire and have better financial resources than we do. Shaktar are also backed by a billionaire and have better resources than us. They basically do not have to sell to anyone.

They are playing CL football regularly as well. If we are quoted silly money or basically told to fuck off what are we supposed to do ?

These super rich russian/ukranian clubs are paying 50m for the Hulk's of this world, why would they be bullied by us ?
