I wonder if anyone can help me ? I have a black and white photograph of Willie Hall Taken in the thirties of him shaking hands with another Spurs player with three other players looking on. I haven't got the capabilities of reproducing it on line but hope someone can remember it . I need the names of the other players . Anyone Thanks John

Difficult to guess without a picture.

There is a club Historian at Spurs - maybe worth sending a photopcopy of the picture with a letter asking if he can recognise the players.

Scan it? Your local library (if in uk) should be able to help along with countless high street stores (even your local newsagents.

Ah Willie Hall another Spurs record holder - while appearing in international game for England against Northern Ireland on 16 November 1938, Hall scored five goals during a 30 minute period either side of half-time. Three of these were within a four minute spell and Hall still holds the record for the fastest hat-trick in international matches.

That's an England photo and the handshake is not between players.

thanks for your help. We have tried to download photo but it will only download to 80% then error appears. Thanks for the the extra info and photographs on Willie Hall but it is not one of them. Stanley Mathews said he was one of the best inside forwards he played with. I will keep trying as now it has become an obsession.
