Does anyone have any update on Woodie after the game on Saturday. I have read its a possible re-occurence of the back problem he had at Real Madrid. He's been an important player for us and with Ledley only partly available could be very muched missed.

did that make you feel better DCM? I'll tell you this only once and for your own benefit acting like that in the real world will make people think you are a cock. I asked a question, if you have no answer or no interesting comment then don't comment.

Well...after that childish interlude...

On the BBC newspaper rumours page it says he spent last night in hospital because of fears he had a recurrence of his back injury.

Hope it's not true. If we lose him we may be in big trouble over the xmas period.

thanks TSH, any idea what the original injury actually was?

I don't think we know anything yet apart from what TSH has said. If there are any suggestions that it's either a long term problem, or likely to flare up again we're going to need to get another CB in during the transfer window.

Tottenham fear Jonathan Woodgate might have suffered a recurrence of the back injury that has blighted him for much of his career.
The former Real Madrid and Newcastle defender lasted just 10 minutes of Spurs' goalless draw with Manchester United on Saturday before being forced out of the action.
The 28-year-old was rushed straight to hospital after leaving the field at White Hart Lane following an innocuous challenge with Carlos Tevez.
Loose end

Doctors attempted to establish the nature of Woodgate's new injury although Harry Redknapp's No.2 Kevin Bond has admitted they are at a loose end.
"He was in hospital with a back spasm but they're not sure of the prognosis," assistant manager Bond told The Sun.
Woodgate is almost certain to miss Thursday's home Uefa Cup clash against Spartak Moscow as it remains unclear how long he may need on the sidelines to recover.

To be honest, I actually think we have needed another CB for quite awhile. Both King and Woodgate have had (or have) debilitating injuries and I cannot for the life of me think why this problem has not been addressed. Forget left-wingers, we need a good reliable spine.
Well, thats what I think anyway.

its Spurs way to have a debilitated back line.
Last year we had Bale and BAE out for almost the entire season, and Ledley crocked, and even Dawson was out for a bit i think, resulting in a few makeshift backlines.

this year its Hutton out for almost the season, Ledley still only once a week at best, and now possibly Woodgate down.

Be nice to have no major injuries to our defence for once.

Becasue of His "previous" it's very easy and expected for the papere to publish extremes senarios' I'm not sure i beleive it any thing as serious at all.

That is certainly what Woody needs...

Woody's injury was known about before we signed him, and doubtless was the reason he ended up with us rather than a more successful club - it had nothing to do with the lure of Ramos or Comolli's powers of persuasion, it was simply that we were the only club desperate enough to punt that sort of money on him. But it was a risk, and with King's problems as well, it might have been prudent to have taken out insurance. Oh well, Dawson and Corluka exceeded expectations on Saturday, so maybe the situation is not as desperate as all that.

its a pity what has happened but we have seen in the past that dawson can play brilliantly and corluka has already shown what he can do at CB so i think we have 2 reliable back ups there. Sadly in Europe COrluka cant play so we will ahve to stick either a youth player in or zokora or huddlestone who are both experienced at playing there although not the preffered positions.

Id like to see Gunter play at RB soon

The thing is Woodgate hasn't been a sick note for a long time. He played over 50 games for Boro and has played around 35 games for us.

We should look at Chelsea's want away defender Alex.
I can't see Woody and King being safe bets for the coming 4 years.
Them being fit is just a bonus in my opinion, we cant rely on it.
Really hope this isnt Woodgate back to his old injury problems,
he's been soo great for us.

I really hope that he hasn't got a long term injury like he did at Real, but if he does and is out for several months (probably at least 6 months) then we really should look for a new defender in January too.
