True. Although we have been far more competitive than Everton this century and developed squads that arguably should have achieved more than they did. For instance this century we have been in 6 cup finals to Everton’s 1. For us to win only 1 of those 6 is really poor.

Didn't realise we had been in that many , so that makes 1 gold & 5 silver medals won , not bad in Olympic terms.

I wouldn’t say so. We’ve had elite level players, had a number of years in the Champions League and finished in the top 3 a couple of times. How we didn’t pick up at least a few more League or FA Cups in that time is bewildering. Everton have not been near that level.

Yep. The team has bottled it on more than a few occassions & just havent turned up in the big ones. I have my theory on why this is but its best to save myself from the flame war that would come my way for having digs at a certain someone & the way we approached these games.

True but Everton have spent money in recent seasons trying get near the top level but still haven't got there even though in Ancelotti they had a very successful manager so is it all about money or something else . I can think of a few of our players who in crucial games have just not performed or been very naive, not going to name any current players but will name one now retired , Crouch in Madrid what was that all about ?

You're right. We have 79 more trophies in the cabinet from the 21st century - potentially. So let's put pics of them in nice frames for every one to see. Obviously Woodgate is only talking about years gone by in which we won... fuck all.
