Just had an email go around work declaring that, due to the time difference, we can arrange with our managers to make up time now to have off in lieu during the games, meaning the odd half an hour at lunch and i'll have plenty of time to take off and watch the match.

To add to that, the boardroom has been booked out for each England group game, meaning that even if we do work up until ten to three for the Wednesday game, we'll be bringing munch n beer n stuff and we can prop ourselves up in there as a sort of England Basecamp for the duration

Anyone else's work addressing the obvious problems surrounding this World Cup and the times the games will happen?

I'm going to be putting in the effort and see if i can get enough time built up to catch the other group C games so we'll see how it goes

I havent seen the times of the England games, but I will be very accomadating.

I will not be missing the games, so I won't expect my staff to miss them. If we need to shut up early, I will do so, I will also be getting a TV in the office, and will be allowing cans etc...

:)

I'm allowed to keep my Thierry Henry voodoo doll on my desk as long as I don't set fire to it again.

I've booked England group games off, then potential England knock out round, and I've got all the QFs, SFs and the Final off:grin:

Me and a mate (West Ham:bang:) are going to pub all day for England matches and any others if he has the time off.

Just checked, I'm off work on the Wednesday (23rd). The only problem is 3pm kick off. Right when my kid will need picking up from school!

I will have to get the missus (who is English, I'm not (!!!)) to pick the kid up! ha ha!

It's only the Wednesday one I wont be able to watch. I have the radio on in the shop anyway, so i'll be listening on that.

We've got them on all the tvs in the office (which are usually on teletext FTSE/markets)

However, I have exercised my Holiday for the Slovenia game so I will be in the boozer somewhere

I've been saving my holiday up all year - I'm going to have to miss one or two of the group games, but none of the good ones.

That's all good, we're 3 hours ahead here in Moscow so at worst I might miss the first half of the Slovenia game.

I don't work - my only problem is getting enough money to spend on beers for the duration - may have to get to Morrisons and buy 3 crates of Beck's for £18.00 -that'll be for the qualifiers !

I work for VirginMedia and obviously having a good TV signal during the World Cup is paramount, I work in Optical Core Networking and as such everything runs over the kit I build and maintain - so I have requested that I have a TV on my desk so I can keep an eye on the TV picture quality during the World Cup and he has agreed to it.

Just need a fridge with beer and someone to drive me home and I'm set

I'm liking the fact England are playing on a Friday and Saturday night, makes me feel better about having a beer or 10.

And to top it off, the Slovenia game is on the day I go to Glastonbury, happy happy days! (as long as I don't get stuck in Glasto traffic and miss the 3pm KO)

I don't work and my exams will have finished by the time the World Cup starts so I have sod all to do except watch football, drink beer and play video games whilst waiting for more football. I could bring the spare TV down so I can play games and watch football at the same time.
