That would mean that us and Mexico would go through and Germany goes out in the groupstage but I doubt that will happen, we can’t score

I'm not joking. Mexico is by far the most popular football team in the US. It's a well known fact. A lot of those people wearing green today in Russia are Mexican-American. It's why the US bought the 2nd most tickets of any nation.
