Chris Armstrong & Darren Bent

That we could have paid the ludicrous fees we paid for both of them (7m & 16m) when there are twelve year old kids with better technique makes these two the worst strikers - Bent possibly the worst ever signing this club has made.

To whoever said Darren Bent...I mean, seriously, I'd hate to have a striker who scores 16 goals in a team fighting relegation for a large part of the season. Definitely worst human being ever, let alone striker.

Still about the most limited offensive player I've ever seen in our navy and white. I don't remember disliking one of our own players so much since Tim Deadwood.

Nothing against Bent but rarely have I seen such a limited footballer at Spurs, indeed in the premiership.

Steffen iversen-started off well but fizzed out
Freddie kanoute-drifted in and out games badly and costing us a place at wembley by handballing against liverpool

So you think these two are the worst strikers to have played for us?! Hmmm.

For me it's Rasiak, he was useless and offered us nothing.

Armstrong was underated, had some good stats for us till injuries did him in and even still he scored about 1 in 3

Well harsh on him when we have had to endure the likes of Rasiak

I think anyone saying Bent is talking hyperbole really.

Someone scoring 17 goals and finishing top scorer can't be worse than a striker who was goal shy, regardless of technique.

I think some people who dislike bent are just trying to overstate how poor they think he is. The guy isn't necessarily a great player, but he is a good striker, his goal rate proves this.

56 goals in 138 apps for Ipswich
37 goals in 79 apps for Charlton
25 goals in 79 apps for us
8 goals in 9 apps for Sunderland

You don't get a record like that from being a 'shit' striker. Not suited to Spurs? perhaps, worst Spurs striker? get real.

Agree with this and well said. I think Armstrong had a good ratio of goals but career was blighted by injuries and he never really recovered. Shame really.

Anyone remember us going to Man U for a cup game with Rory Allen and Neil Fenn leading the attack?? And i was there :duh:

Rasiak probably the worst, but as someone else said if he hadn't had a good goal chalked off on his debut it may have given him the belief. Same as Paul Stewart who came on as sub against Man U only to blast a penalty against the bar. We destroyed Rebrov sadly, but on a separate note for all the cack we had playing for us, (there were some bad years) we have had soooo many good uns.. (Greaves, Chivers, Smith, Archibald, Crooks, Allen, Clausen, Lineker, Klinsmann, Sheringham, Defoe, Keane, Berbatov) :)

He had a worse scoring record than Bent, Armstrong and Lee. If not the worst then he was one of the most overrated. I disagree he was a fine player for us. I am not saying he was the worst- I put him on a list of candidates. You are free to put forward your own candidates not on the list if you can think of any.
And by the way do try to make your points without including insults to other fellow Spurs fans who participate on this board, there's a good chap.

So nobody here remembers Jason Dozzell, played for us 1993-97, 80 appearances, 14 goals.

Another who was signed as a "great prospect" who we had high hopes for but gradually got worse and worse. Maybe our Manager, Ardiles and his coaching staff at the time was to blame. In the end he got a free transfer back to Ipswich Town who promptly moved him on to Northampton Town a couple of months later.

If it wasn't for Rocket Ronnie Rosenthal's spectacular hat-trick in the cup against Southampton I would have him down as the worse spurs striker. He always tried hard but he was absolute pap, the Dirk Kyte of his day, 11 goals in 100 appearances.

Rebrov didn't let anybody down. He was a top quality player playing in a useless side under a manager who didn't want to play to his strengths. We ruined that lad's career and the way we treated him throughout his contract was nothing short of a disgrace.

As for the worst striker, I don't really count players like Boothe who was a 1 month loan or the youth strikers, I only count "proper" senior squad members. Under those criteria, Rasiak is by some distance the worst striker I have seen play for spurs.

Spot on, Rebrov was a class act, it was shame he had one of the most insepid and non creational midfields ever assembled at Spurs behind him

I lost count of the number fo games where Rebrov was clearly on a higher wavelenght than most of the squad, so he would drop deeper and deeper just to get the ball

Rasiak takes some beating for being out of his depth though

He was a midfielder.
